Smallwood-Lockwood - can we?

My surname is Smallwood... DP's is Lockwood. We have decided on William (Billy) and would like him to have both our surnames. However, is Smallwood-Lockwood awful? if so, I will push for my surname - as we are not married.

I will get it pulled... Thanks, but he isn't here yet!

He will be known as Billy - I doubt he will even know he's a William, until a bit older.

I don't see the point in having just Wood, as it means nothing to either of us - we would all have different surnames. I also don't like names that have alliteration. It doesn't matter, if it's not possible, I will end up pushing for it!

Smallwood-Lockwood is horrendous, sorry. Also, as a teacher, I can't help but point out the name Willy Smallwood is not going to help the self-esteem of any child once the teasing starts!!!

It's fine but if I were you, I'd get the thread pulled. You've just given your son's full name.
