Names you can shorten to Immy

So I've liked to name Imogen for years!! My first daughters dad hated it so couldn't give her the name, 6 years later I'm expecting baby number 2! My partner said he like Imogen as he knows I've always wanted it....I love that Imogen can be shortened to Immy and would definitely shorten it on a daily basis but now I am going off Imogen and think the name is a bit of a "harsh/hard" name for a baby 🙈 But I will want to use Immy as I LOVE LOVE it! I can't think of any other name that you can shorten to it though :( :( x

Imogen isn't harsh or hard for a baby by the way - you've loved the name for years, so go with it! You'll call her Immy when she's a baby anyway :)

Btw, I agree with the people that say Immy doesn't need to have a connection to the name on the birth certificate.

Cordelia nn Immy. Blair nn Immy. Clementine nn Immy.

That would be cute as well.

Philomena
Ermintrude

basically anything with a vowel and an 'm'

Actually, even if you decide to call her Frances, her nickname can still be Immy. Or you could just call her Immy

I suppose Kimberly, Simone could work along the same lines as Alexander can be shorted to xander ie it doesn't have to be a name starting with Im

My sister's best friend is Imelda which I've always liked as a name. But if you feel that Imogen is too harsh for a baby then that may be too. For what it's worth I think Imogen is a beautiful name at any age- plus if you shorten it when she's little then you essentially remove the 'too harsh' problem.
