Son has the name of a celebrity... I didn't realise.

I don't watch much TV, so didn't watch this program. Really gutted.

He's 8 months, but no one has really ever said anything. I've had a few "oh, like..." but I've just smiled, thinking "who?" and just got on with my day.

Would you change it?

Art- then I don't think you are the right person to answer the OP's question. The majority of people in normal society do watch TV, read the news, go on the Internet and talk to other humans so a lot of people will find the name amusing.

Lous Walsh isn't that famous and I doubt many of his peers will have heard of him. Not worth changing his name over, unless you want to anyway.

Louis Walsh has been in the public eye for ages. You'd have to have avoided TV, newspapers and the internet for a good 25 years to have never have heard of him. That or be forgetful with names (which to be fair I am).

Drink -I havent owned a television for over 10+ years. Some of those years I have been based overseas where celebrity culture doesn't exist like in the uk and it would never be in the news for example. So why would I have seen a popular tv show? And why would I know who a man is who happens to be on that show that I don't watch and have no idea what they do?

Louis Walsh is extremely famous! He has been on the biggest TV show in the UK for the past 10+ years where 8+million people watch him every Saturday and Sunday night.

I am genuinely shocked at people claiming he's not famous because they don't watch much tv!
It's a lovely name but I would laugh my head off if someone I knew named their baby this and I imagine most people would. I'd change it if it was me.

Eee, that scamp Kevin Rowland knew how to get publicity. The producers protested they would be accused of the error but KR whose idea it was allegedly said noone wouldn't get the joke (Guardian, 2002)

No, he's 'reet petite' 😉 And Dexys had a song about him too, famously - or infamously - when they were on Top of the Pops the set people put up a picture of the Scottish darts player 😂

A certain very famous American singer shares my name. He's a bloke, hey ho.
The first time I'd heard of him was during a music class. Then some of his songs were re released.Hmm

I went to school with Elizabeth Taylor and Donna Summers! And David Bailey! My name before I married was the same as a famous American country singer!

It doesn't matter a bit, perfectly normal names and nothing obscure, would be a bit different if he was Justin Bieber or something!

unless you live in a cave, I fail to see how you couldn't have heard of him if you live in the U.K.

But - Annie - I could say the same about, say, the Governor of the Bank of England....but I bet a random selection of people on the street couldn't tell you his name. It all depends what you read/watch and where your interests lie.

Oh, and I really don't live in a cave, and read lots of newspapers and am on social media etc. But I don't watch much TV so I guess I skim over things in papers and mags that are irrelevant to me. Like Louis Walsh - I would have read his name and passed by, seen his picture and passed by.

I had heard the name and googling him I recognise him but wouldn't have put the face and name together. I thought he was a judge on some show but I don't watch any of those shows so had a very vague idea.

2/3 of the the adults in this house didn't know who he was. I am obviously more down with the kids than dh and dm.
