Bronte Lily, Bronte Catherine, Bronte Elizabeth, Bronte Beatrix, Bronte Veronica, Bronte Arabella or Bronte Heather?

Bronte Lily, Catherine, Elizabeth/Elisabeth, Beatrix, Veronica, June, Arabella or Heather?
We've decided on the very lovely Bronte for her name. Will be adding umlaut on birth certificate but she can drop it if she wants as I'm sure it will be anyway.
Choose one and why please. Smile

Umlauts and diæreses look the same but do a different job. You should really know the difference if you're using one in your child's name.

I think it's needs a plain, one syllable middle name - Ann (but not that), Jane , etc.

I just think of Green Card.

Bronte is gorgeous. I don't think any of the MNS go though, but if I had to pick one. It would be Bronte. Elizabeth.

I know a young Bronte (5 or 6 yrs old), and I've never heard anyone say anything negative about her name in real life.

My first thought was that it was an unusual name, but it sounds nice and it seemed just as normal as any other name soon enough.

I would avoid Catherine or Heather as middle names though, as pp say, it brings Wuthering Heights too much to mind.

I think Bronte Elizabeth sounds nice. Or Bronte Rose.

(And I think Bronte is a really cool name. Could be much worse!)

I think Bronte Rose flows nicely.

Fwiw I like all of your children's names but I do know a Bronte and she is called Brontosaurus. You could get some cute dinosaur toys so she likes that. I know someone with surname Hog and her dds have lots of pig ornaments that they love. It kind of preempts any teasing.

Just nothing as a middle name that makes it sound like a gift from Haworth - definitely avoid any character names or anything heathery, tubercular-sounding or druggy. Poor old indulged Branwell.

I really like the name Bronte. There was a lovely Bronte on the Andrew Lloyd Webber find a Dorothy show, she was fab.

I really think Catherine goes best as a middle name. Or possibly Elizabeth. The others compete too much.

Are you American OP? Your name choices (especially surnames as first names) sound like it. Not having a dig, it's just if you are then you're probably not going to get the response you want from a predominately British audience! They're all very 'big' names. I actually quite like Bronte to be honest but wouldn't use it myself. Bronte Rose is nice.

Vixx personally attacked me. How can it not provoke hurt & upset & not cause an upset reaction to say something like that? And Soubriquet and Navy why do you stay on my thread when you don't like my daughter's name & don't want to help me pick a middle name?
Orange, I'm not naming her after the Bronte's sisters dad so I don't see why that matters.

As you've said that you are naming your DC after the literary sisters, then you'll also know that the authors' dad in adulthood changed his own surname from Prunty or Brunty to Bronte..

So it seems particularly in the spirit of homage to the Bronte family, to call your DC, (or yourself!) by a name of your own choosing (or invention), that YOU find appealing.

Posted too soon....the Rose is a good combination as the softness of it balances the hard 'T' sound in Brontë
