DH and I are TTC DC2 (not right now - I'm not that good A multitasker Wink).

Just day(evening?)dreaming and thinking of potential names for the hypothetical DC2. Any ideas?

Personally wouldn't make the Friends connection. It definitely wouldn't be a problem for the kids, I doubt anyone their age will still be watching Friends as they grow up.

NapQueen · 04/12/2016 18:14

Emma and Kate
Emma and Sam

KlingybunFistelvase · 04/12/2016 18:11

Love Rachel! It was suggested up thread. I was thinking though, would people think of Friends? Rachel has a daughter named Emma!

I'm not keen on Lucy for some reason... I think it could be to do with the women and girls I know who are names Lucy. I do like Charlotte but not keen on Marianne (though I do like the Jane Austen link there too).

Just read back and spotted Lucy, think that goes really well with Emma and it's a great name in its own right.

NameChange30 · 04/12/2016 16:57

I like Margaret, there is Margaret Atwood and the Jane Austen character. She's the little sister which seems appropriate! And it could be shortened to Meg which I like.

Other literary names that would go with Emma:
Charlotte
Marianne

I think most boys' names would go well with Emma. I like Toby although I don't know if there's a literary connection.

NotYoda · 03/12/2016 08:26

I love Margaret (Maggie/Peggy)

I suggest:

Marianne
Francesca - Frankie
Joy
Leah

Patrick
Michael
Matthew

I'd support Alice and Lucy too, as PPs suggest.

What about Peter or Hugh?

I'm Emma, siblings are Alison, Clare and Philip - born in the 60s/70s though.

Only taught 2 other Emmas, one had siblings Alice and Daniel, the other one had sibling Matthew.

Sparrowlegs248 · 30/11/2016 22:18

I have a Luke, and am thinking of Emma or Hannah if the next one is a girl.

babyblabber · 30/11/2016 21:34

I'm Emma and my sister is Laura!

Defo not Anna, people always think I say Anna on the phone, they are way too similar.
