Husband and I can't decide on a boy's name- help!

DH and are cannot find a boys' name we both agree on for our second child, unlike first time round when it was unanimously Edward! We both loved it when I was pregnant and still love it now.
This time it's a different story! We just can't find a name we both equally like. DH loves Miles which I liked initially but I'm now having reservations amd am just not convinced.

I love traditional, 'safe' names and would like an Old Testament name either as first or middle name. If first name is not OT in origin then middle name will be Samuel. If first name is OT then middle name may be Peter.
I love:
Benjamin
Reuben
Theodore (Theo/Ted)
Arthur

Please suggest some others I can run by DH!

Some great feedback and ideas here- thanks! Our Edward goes by his full name which I originally thought was a bit old for a baby but he really suits it! I'm swinging back to Miles a bit, still love Reuben and now DH has thrown Timothy into the mix! Not sure what I think of the latter, it seems very much my parents' generation. I'm so indecisive!

I know an Edward and Jack
and an Edward and Nate (Nathaniel)

I actually love Edward and Miles- Miles not nearly as popular as Arthur etc so will sound fresher IMO

Other solid Biblical names:

Adam
David
John
Paul

My ds1 is Edward too! Ds2 is called Samuel. Others on our list for both boys were Daniel and Toby. I think both work with Edward. Unfortunately I don't think Samuel works as a middle name for either but Peter would. Tobias Peter though maybe nn Toby. Benjamin is another I like. Benjamin Samuel could work. Does Edward have a nn? Congratulations on ds2, boys are great!!

I know a 18 yeAr old Tobias called Toby.

Blondie87 · 30/11/2016 08:00

Thank you for all the suggestions. Current contenders we've added to the list are:
Toby
Timothy

I think our current favourite is Toby but unsure whether we'd put Tobias on the birth certificate. If it's a boy and he was called Tobias he'd be known to the world as Toby. Thoughts?

Thinking of Edwards with brothers:

Edward and John
Edward and Nicholas
Edward and Oliver

neonrainbow · 24/11/2016 15:11

Do you like miles more if spelt myles? I think with a y it seems more of a name.

I love Old Testament names. How about:

Jonah
Ezra
Caleb
Adam
Solomon
Daniel
Abel
Joshua
Jacob

Although some of them might not be safe or traditional enough.

Yika · 24/11/2016 07:15

Jonathan
Adam

Blondie87 · 24/11/2016 07:13

Samuel is use already by someone in the family but it has special significance so that's why it's a MN contender. I love but can't use Isaac or Henry.

We are considering William.
Thank you for the suggestions.

Edward and Isaac

Agadooo · 23/11/2016 23:23

Jacob or Benjamin

OldRosesDoomed · 23/11/2016 23:16

Arthur and Oscar were on our list for younger sib. Hugo and Freddie were on the list for our Edward.

Younger sib was a girl so became academic. I favoured Arthur; DH Oscar. Connections from Arthur: Merlin, Gawain, and off the wall I really like Florian.

Thatwaslulu · 23/11/2016 23:10

Aaron
Noah
Cain
Caleb
Samson
Jesse
Elijah
Seth
Simeon

notagiraffe · 23/11/2016 23:06

Why not Samuel as a first name?
Or Daniel?
Isaac?

I love all your choices by the way.

William
George
Joseph
