I know two - one 9 & one 7.

neither gets shortened - lovely name

Mermaid36 · 23/11/2016 07:45

We have a Felicity! She is 7mths old and we keep being told what a lovely name it is!
She is Felicity Rose and her twin sister is Scarlett Grace Smile

TheNaze73 · 23/11/2016 07:43

It's a gorgeous, timeless name. There was only one Felicity at my daughters primary school, so based on that, I wouldn't say it was too popular Smile

Yawninghippo · 23/11/2016 07:41

woopy I agree, I'm not a fan of Flick at all! Fliss is the way forward or Lissy might work.

We have a Felicity Faith- 7yrs old.Never met another. Goes by Fliss, Flissy,Miss Fliss, Floss or Filly. Never Flick. Never ever Flick.

Allalonenow · 22/11/2016 20:45

The Felicity I know uses Fizz or Fizzy for her nn, which I think is fun, and matches her sparkling happy nature. Smile

Letty7 · 22/11/2016 17:54

I really like it, considered it for DD but like a previous poster said I didn't like any of the common nicknames.

Yawninghippo · 22/11/2016 17:53

Possibly the first thread I've seen with not one negative response to a name! Smile

I haven't met a Felicity younger than myself (I'm 24) but my best friend at school's older sister had the name and I idolised her a bit (all my dolls were named FelicityHmmGrin) so I'm a little biased. I think it's a beautiful name though.

KlingybunFistelvase · 22/11/2016 09:36

Love it!

I'm pleased it's got a good response here, it's very vanilla for my usual tastes but I feel quite drawn to it. MNs will be my mum's very difficult to read name and DP's mum's name but it seems to scan nicely.

And the clear meanings of Felicity and Verity. Good fortune, and Truth. Lovely and clear.

Clarice, anyone?

mammmamia · 22/11/2016 00:10

I also love Verity which is similar

mammmamia · 22/11/2016 00:10

I love it. I knew three at school but have not met one since. I also love the way it looks written down. Felicity. Go for it!

FastWindow · 21/11/2016 23:57

I don't know anyone called Felicity in my 43 years; closest classy name- I knew a Penelope when i was 7.

Go for it, i bet the teachers will be delighted to have a child they can pronounce...

LittleFilly · 21/11/2016 23:52

Fab name, Hippo. Energetic and a bit jolly hockey sticks (in a good way).
It's on our long list (and thinking of adding it to my short list Grin).

Both Flick and Fliss are good nns.

Yawninghippo · 21/11/2016 21:45

Think that's decided it then! Thank you all!

Lovely! I have know of 2, a 4 year old and a lady in her 30s who goes by Izzy. Its not overly popular. I would use it!

Joinourclub · 21/11/2016 19:36

Very lovely. Never taught one in 13 years of teaching, though I do now know a one year old Fliss.

Nuttypops · 21/11/2016 19:34

I like it, have only taught 1 in the 7 years I have been teaching. DD, aged 2, does have a friend at nursery called Felicity and I know another little girl born a few weeks ago who is also a Felicity so I wonder if it may be becoming more popular though.

rubberducker · 21/11/2016 19:34

I love it. I only know 1 (3 yrs old), no nickname for her at the moment but I really like fliss.

Yawninghippo · 21/11/2016 19:28

I like Fliss or Lissy for nicknames so I'm happy with that. I'm pleased it's not too popular, I've only ever liked really unusual or downright odd names, but DP would prefer something a little less mental so been trying to find something that fits us both. Smile

I'm a teacher and I've only known one in 8 years.

MissisBee · 21/11/2016 19:21

Lovely name
