Winter, for a boy?

My daughter's middle name is Summer, she was born in Summer. I want to do the same for my son - he is due in December! Thoughts on Winter as a middle name, for a boy?

No, it's horrible. Don't do that to your future child.
Let him be able to show his driving license, get married, generally exist without the fear of ridicule when people see/hear that absurd name.

You could use a winter name but not winter if you wanted

It isn't compulsory to have a middle name. If you want meaningful you could choose a friend, the baby's father, someone you admire (scientist, author etc). The season they happen to be born in seems pretty meaningless to me-won't they have their birthday to remind them they're a winter baby. Confused

I guess if you're going to use something that's a bit out there af least it isn't their first name.

Summer incumin though is not as popular at the moment as winter is coming .... in true Shakespeare style there are puns everywhere about the phrase

It was a boy's name in Victorian times, then dropped out of use.

No reason not to give it to a boy, and 'Summer is coming' (or icumen in, if you prefer the Shakespearian version) is just as common a phrase and doesn't seem to be a problem for that season name.
