It's ridiculous for a girl and screams - we are so cool and so different ..... not.

OpalTree · 19/11/2016 12:01

Egbert?

LucyBabs · 19/11/2016 00:48

Hmm I prefer Desmond or maybe Edward?

ToujeoQueen · 19/11/2016 00:45

Alan no, Keith otoh.....

sycamore54321 · 19/11/2016 00:42

Assuming this is a joke. Obviously no. But just to say Alannah isn't a female version of Alan, it is an anglicisation of an Irish endearment "a leanabh", literally "dear child" (when addressing someone). Not just Alan with a feminine ending.

SealSong · 19/11/2016 00:20

Alan is a ridiculous name for a girl!!

Gary is much better.

AbernathysFringe · 19/11/2016 00:14

Alaine?

fuzzyllama · 18/11/2016 21:37

raines100 I was surprised no one else had got in there first Grin

HaveNoTimeToThinkOfName · 18/11/2016 21:09

This has to be a joke.
Grin Thatwaslulu!!!!!
Out of all the lovely girls name there are......honestly. Makes me cross. Verging on child cruelty infact.

Raines100 · 18/11/2016 21:03

Damn. Pipped to the post again. I like your style fuzzyllama

Joinourclub · 18/11/2016 19:29

Alan is great for a girl. Similar names you may like: Colin, Adam, Paul, Norman

MadisonAvenue · 18/11/2016 19:26

Buster if we're thinking of Brookie themed names, I think the perfect girl's name is Barry, after Barry Grant.
Or there's always Trevor (American friend has a son called Trevor Hmm)

BusterGonad · 18/11/2016 19:14

I've got it, Ron, after Ron Dicko from Brookside!

squoosh · 18/11/2016 18:03

That's a relief Chinlo Wink

swoonmacaroon · 18/11/2016 18:01

I like it but prefer Colin.

Chinlo · 18/11/2016 18:00

Don't worry squoosh, I didn't mean LITERALLY everyone.

squoosh · 18/11/2016 17:59

I wouldn't call a girl James (or Alan). And I wouldn't call a boy Ellie.

WellErrr · 18/11/2016 17:59

Keith?

squoosh · 18/11/2016 17:59

Nope. I definitely rolled my eyes at the 'James for a girl' thread.

Chinlo · 18/11/2016 17:57

I love all the jokes, and then when somebody makes a thread about James for a girl, everyone starts claiming it's a lovely name for a girl and that it's sexist to assign a gender to name.

DogsandCats123 · 18/11/2016 17:56

What about Alanya?

Kenworthington · 18/11/2016 17:56

Don't be ridiculous OP

EssentialHummus · 18/11/2016 17:54

What about Brian? Classic, strong name, he won't have any problem becoming a high court judge.

YouWereAlwaysPerfect · 18/11/2016 17:53

Alan for a girl...

Hmm

Do you mean Alana?
