I know I keep asking for Clara but we wanted to be sure and the popularity in the UK makes me rethink our choice.
Which do you like best Alba or Clara? DH is Spanish

Clara- lovely. Makes me think of Heidi.
Alba- clumsy sounding. Makes me think of The House of Bernada Alba, and she wasn't a nice character.

cmxx · 17/11/2016 21:42

Definitely Clara! She's number 3 on my girls list :)

I'm actually growing a little bit on Alba which is odd because I'd usually hate it :') but I do still see it as a little too outdated (albeit definitely coming back.)

Clara is classy, elegant, and so underused. I'd be thrilled to meet a little Clara!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 17/11/2016 21:31

I quite like Alba, but it's more unusual here. What about Alma (soul)? That's probably more recognised.

trixymalixy · 17/11/2016 21:28

Love clara. If I were to have another girl it would be my name of choice.

Clara is lovely and will be recognised only as a feminine name. I agree with PPs Alba can sound masculine and also is recognised as a brand name

SoftSheen · 17/11/2016 21:25

Clara

Chinlo · 17/11/2016 21:23

Clara is such a boring name.

Abecedario · 17/11/2016 21:17

2 of my absolute favourites, think I slightly prefer Alba

Giratina · 17/11/2016 21:14

Clara is lovely and elegant. Don't like Alba at all.

WellyMummy · 17/11/2016 21:13

Clara, every time! But I am exceptionally biased.

Evergreen17 · 17/11/2016 21:09

I am Spanish and I prefer Alba to Clara. Alba is a lovely name in Spain but not sure if you live here

Meadows76 · 17/11/2016 21:06

I love Alba but I noticed it's the Welsh channel on sky surely it's the Scottish channel Hmm

Shesinfashion · 17/11/2016 21:05

Clara. The other name is horrid.

Joinourclub · 17/11/2016 21:04

Clara is so much better

LestatVonGaribaldi · 17/11/2016 21:01

I love Alba but I noticed it's the Welsh channel on sky and when Googled discovered it's also Gaelic. I just don't think I can be bothered to have to say, no I didn't name her after a TV channel, no I'm not Scottish, no I'm not Spanish, no I'm not a fan of Jessica Alba etc

Lilacpink40 · 17/11/2016 20:22

Clara, love it.
Alba makes me think of Alberta hair shampoo.

DramaAlpaca · 17/11/2016 20:20

Clara

zazie7 · 17/11/2016 20:19

Sophronia · 17/11/2016 20:00

caffelatte100 · 17/11/2016 19:58

Clara, I like it!

Mum8 · 17/11/2016 19:54

X post!

Alba is Gaelic for Scotland - I don't know if that makes a difference or not.
