Anything like Lettice? (But less saladi-ish)?

I don't like Letitia/Laetitia etc.

DH loves Lettice. He also suggested Annora/Honora.

I really like Angelica but DH hates it.

Maybe Samantha? Antonia? Maybe Philippa? Eugenie? I like them, but I just don't love them...

DD is 4/12...
I'd honestly appreciate every suggestion.

I thought Lettice was pronounced the same as Lettuce but with a clearer 'I' as in igloo. Have I been wrong all these years? Lots of lovely names here op.

My DSis2's name is Harriet. If it wasn't... well, it's a beautiful name.

Yes, I know. It is a very cute bird :)

We currently have Serena, Appolline, Celestina, Cressida and Iris on our shared list.
DH and I both like Iris but I think it might become very popular (?)

I know a couple of Artemises but they're very posh - a plus or a minus depending on your perspective.

I really like Apolline - very unusual

I know a French child called Celestine - it's very sweet.

Linnet is pronounced lin-it. Its a lovely little bird.

No. Linnet is a bird. Like Robin. Lynnette is from Arthurian legend - from Eluned (pronounced El-INN-ed), often abbreviated to Lyn.

Cecile sounds beautiful. I just don't like the meaning (blind). It's not that the meaning is incredibly important, but 'blind'...? Celestine/Celia however is lovely, so thank you for reminding me of that name.

Artemis is very pretty but just too far out there/too quirky imo. But there are many lovely Greek names. Maybe I should have a look at the 'Greek section' (on behindthename) again...

A few people have mentioned Cecily but I love Cecile. A different style but I also adore Elin (pn El as in elephant - in)

The nn doesn't have to be Lettie. Not that it isn't cute and there would be a connection to Lettice. But DH's great aunt's nn wasn't Lettie, so the connection would be rather tenuous. I should have said that when I started the thread. Sorry...

I personally think Arlette and Paulette are the 'wrong' kind of old fashioned... Colette is cute. But not THE name. (Finding a name is a bit like wedding dress shopping, isn't it?)

Both could be Letty for short but are sufficiently interesting in their own right.
