It is pretty weird though. Although having said that, as another PP mentioned, middle names are rarely known or used so it may not be that big a deal. But since they're not important, wouldn't it just be nicer to choose a different middle name for whichever one it is that isn't born yet?

For example, Daniel Stephen and Stephanie [any name other than Danielle] is not quite so weird.

They'll only ever be Daniel and Stephanie or Dan and Steph, their middle names wouldn't make the slightest difference imo.

To all those saying "Who will know their middle names?"- there were brothers at my school named 'George Edward' and 'Edward George'. Everyone knew this, and yes, they did get teased for it.

I'd definitely still go with Stephanie but perhaps choose an alternative middle name.

Stephanie Rose
Stephanie Jane
Stephanie Marie
Stephanie Mae
Stephanie Willow
Stephanie Kate
Stephanie Louise.

Well, it's a bit odd when you ask us outright like that, but 99% of people would only hear "My dc, Daniel and Stephanie" and have no inkling about their middle names.

Is there a reason you'd want to do this though ?

Yes, if you're 100% certain (and I mean the tube tying kind of certainty) that you won't have another child. And only if they are twins or your two only children.

I think using one of the names (Stefanie Rose or Leandra Danielle, for example) would be better. That would actually be a sweet way to connect siblings. But they'd still have a name of their own (something everybody deserves!)

Daniel and Stephanie are lovely, But they need different middle names though. Mark and Louise?

Using Stephen and Danielle as middle names is horrific!

They will know. Their friends will know.
