RIGHT?!

I used to love this and it's just come onto my radar a minute before I posted this but is it crap? Just let it sink in for a second. Do you know any? Do I sound desperate?

Tiffany is a bit flouncy for my taste but I like Abigail. Its stronger somehow

Someone I went to school with has a Tiffany. I do think it has a bit of a downmarket/80s vibe, but I also quite like it.

EddieStobbart · 08/11/2016 22:01

I knew a very arty Tiffany, used to get called Tiffy.

There was always the risk of "Stiffany" but the girl I knew was one of the cool kids so didn't catch on.

QueenLizIII · 08/11/2016 21:56

Ooh not Abigail.

Too popular and breaks down to a big ail.

QueenLizIII · 08/11/2016 21:55

I like it. Never met one

See how the election goes though...Tiffany Trump and all that.

pictish · 08/11/2016 21:54

I like it too. My friend's sister was Abigail and I always thought it was really pretty - she suited it.

UnoriginalNN · 08/11/2016 21:50

I do actually really like Abigail (big West Wing fan here!) And Kimberly. The list is getting longer not shorter!! Grin

Could we agree that 'trailer trash' is not acceptable? Dislike something all you will, but don't say that.

Sophronia · 08/11/2016 21:39

I think it has a pretty sound. It's actually an old, medieval name, a version of Theophania

Chinlo · 08/11/2016 21:21

Haven't you heard op? You can only pick a name from one of the 10 pre-approved names on this board.

Heaven forbid anyone express their opinion when asked for it. No, let's all pretend that we all love all names, that will really improve things!

Tiffany! Beautiful! I love it!

pictish · 08/11/2016 21:20

Madison
Abigail
Faraday
Saskia
Tabitha

Have a similar vibe?

PointlessUsername · 08/11/2016 21:13

What about Kimberley?, Op.

BackforGood · 08/11/2016 21:11

Please don't call your dd Fanny.
You might not use that shortening, but I can 100% guarantee there will be those who think it's hilarious.

pictish · 08/11/2016 21:10

Alas I think Ross Kemp has ruined Tiffany for me. Agree it is a pretty name. Not when barked by Grant Mitchell. It's all I can hear. Sorry.

megletthesecond · 08/11/2016 21:08

Apparently one of Donald Trumps daughters is called Tiffany.

Normandy144 · 08/11/2016 21:07

I think it's pretty, but it does have 80s connotations. If you like it use it.

AveEldon · 08/11/2016 21:03

Love it
The one I knew moved to Hong Kong w her banker husband

theaveragewife · 08/11/2016 20:56

I think you're alone now

Or not...Grin

hels71 · 08/11/2016 20:53

I taught a Tiffani a couple of years ago. she must be about 14 now and she is lovely..(not sure if that helps!)

Pemba · 08/11/2016 20:17

It has a pretty sound but a very down-market vibe unfortunately. Also very 80s, like pps said.

UnoriginalNN · 08/11/2016 20:14

I do still think of Eastenders which is a shame as I think it's lovely. Dh, however, says "it's not even a grower"!

(It's going on the list anyway)

I absolutely love the name Tiffany. I've only met one person with the name and that was from school years ago.

princesshaley · 08/11/2016 17:51

I think Tiffany's quite pretty. I went to school with two but other than that, I don't know any. One down side though, is that one of Donald Trump's daughters is Tiffany, after the jewellers. Don't know if that's something that would put you off or not though??

ErrolTheDragon · 08/11/2016 17:49

It's one of those names which suits some people but really wouldn't work so well for others. It's quite 'fluffy' sounding. (though as mentioned upthread, Tiffany Aching kicks ass!)

Does it get NN'd to 'Tiff' - a spat, or an image file format? Grin
