I need hippyish and out there names that won't get my child bullied at school.

If you called him Ash though hed surely get people singing "I want to be the very best" and chucking balls at him :)

I know and Indy who is Indiana. I don't think kids get bullied for their names at school anymore, at least in cities and the southeast. They go to school with kids from India, China, Poland, Europe, US all sorts of backgrounds. They don't bat an eyelid imo. Names are generally becoming more diverse I think and the next generation will have judges and PM's not called John, David, Margaret and Theresa. So call them what you and your partner like.

Asher, Willow, Rowan, Isla are all lovely.

There's some lovely unusual names that don't have to fit your hippy image.
But like other posters, OP I'd really question your desire to name the child with a unique hippy name as if they're an extension of yourself.
In schools I've seen all kinds of weird and wonderful names come and go. Sadly, I find it hard to imagine going to a lawyer called Queen or a doctor called Staar (yes, the 2 a was part of the unique spelling).

And yes of course he's a positive character; He's allegorical for Christ. Which is quite the nominative burden. Plus some bunch of squirts sooner or later would decide to tie Aslan to a bench with skipping ropes and 'sacrifice' him. Minefield, sorry.

Being called Aslan in a UK (or english-speaking) context would be awkward. In a UK school playground it would be hell.

Zephyr would make me laugh uncontrolably, since it is the family name for a fart as it is defined as a warm breeze from the south.

Please don't lumber your child with a name that will not age well, I think every parent should be forced to look at pictures of 90 year olds and imagine them as their little babe being called River, Troutstream or Meadow Pippit. Some names are cute for babies, toddlers and even teens, but go off the boil rapidly after that.

There are countries where Jesus is a perfectly normal boy's name.

Doesn't mean it would be a good idea to use it for a British child!

What's wrong with Aslan?

It's an old Turkish name that happens to mean lion, hence cs Lewis using it in the book Narnia. But has been used for centuries before that. The character it has come to be known as is also a positive character depicting trust and loyalty.

plumsgalore maybe this is the big difference. We have so many nationalities and countries of decent in my eldest's class at school and so many names you are probably not surrounded by. We have no Tom or jack or George at all. So for us it totally fits in.

Plus Ezekiel is actually a traditional biblical name that he can use if he wishes. Ziggy is just a nickname that we love. Or he can use his Nigerian middle name which would no doubt also stand out where you live. That's not to say if I didn't live in a more homogenous place that I would have picked the same name, so agree it does depend on where your children will grow up. But regardless I would have chosen a Nigerian name to honour his heritage and that would always stand out outside of a multicultural area.

Wolf is an awesome name, I know one named after a living relative who was named after an ancestor born in the 1850s.

A very good test of a name is to stand at your front door and shout "X time for tea"......if you feel the slightest twinge of embarrassment or discomfort, then it's not a good choice.

Willow is nice, whereas Bluebell is just silly.
