Our daughter arrived yesterday - a Halloween baby Wink we absolutely love the name Grace.

Our surname is Samuels-Grey (yes, we know it sounds like 'Samuel's grey')... We can't have a Grace Samuels-Grey, can we? Grin

I absolutely love it! Have said it out loud a bunch of times and it's very classy... Very graceful! Ivy and Scarlett also work (I like Scarlett the least personally). And Autumn as a middle name is what I want to use. Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl (and your excellent taste!)

ScarletSienna · 02/11/2016 14:25

ABC yes!
OP it does run into itself a bit and I agree it sounds like Grey Samuel Grey. Scarlett sounds great though. Congratulations!

AppleCanoe · 01/11/2016 20:46

I think it sounds perfectly fine, go for it!

SilkThreads · 01/11/2016 20:06

I LOVE Grace Samuels-Grey

YouCanShoveYourOtherGranny · 01/11/2016 19:23

congratulations and how very exciting.

Grace Scarlett Samuels Grey. Wow. That is a beautiful name - I can truly see it on her office door, her book/album cover.... Lovely.

Yes, so much love it almost bursts from your chest Smile

RiaOverTheRainbow · 01/11/2016 19:14

It's not an enormous issue, but I think the sss sounds in Grace Samuels run together too much. I think Ivy Samuels-Grey is lovely.

Hallamoo · 01/11/2016 19:13

I love it - Grace Samuels-Grey. Do it, you won't regret it.

I wanted to give DD2 Grace as a middle name but DH vetoed it. We nearly didn't give her a first and middle name because they sounded like something else when said together, but I'm glad we did, she has a beautiful name.

Congratulations!!!

Tattyjet · 01/11/2016 19:07

Grace is beautiful, and I think the rhythm of the full name is lovely. If you love the name, go for it - most of the time she will just be known as Grace, or even Grace S-G.

ForeverEyesOfBlue · 01/11/2016 19:01

Grace Samuels-Grey is absolutely fine, but I love Scarlett Samuels-Grey!

BeattieBowRisenFromTheDead · 01/11/2016 18:55

I'm not keen on Scarlett due to the colour thing (scarlet/grey).

Overrunwithlego · 01/11/2016 18:54

I think so, although would probably opt for Ivy. I would have liked to use the name buts it's a definite no with our surname.

ABCFamily · 01/11/2016 18:48

Sorry, but Grace Samuels-Grey reminds me a bit of this Catherine Tate sketch:

Ivy is lovely though.

AllieLove · 01/11/2016 18:48

I know an Ann Kerr Shock are you in Scotland?

dalmatianmad · 01/11/2016 18:30

Congratulations Flowers
I think that name goes perfectly! Enjoy your bundle of loveliness

Scarlett Grace sounds great with your surnames, then she can choose which name she prefers when older, if she wanted to change it. Ivy always makes me think of Ivy Tilsley ? From Corrie years ago, not a nice character.

And yes, it does feel like a physical pain sometimes, that overwhelming love you feel for your child, even now that mine are grumpy teenagers, still feel it occasionally like that. Enjoy, it goes so fast but it's brilliant.

CocoaX · 01/11/2016 18:21

Congratulations on your new baby!

I love Scarlett Grace Samuels-Grey, that is a fabulous name. I don't think Grace Samuels Grey works so well. Ivy is okay.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/11/2016 18:21

Oh right, completely different in mineGrin

AmeliaJack · 01/11/2016 18:19

Not in my accent Dame it sounds like Grays Gray.

HillaryFTW · 01/11/2016 18:18

Scarlett works well too. Tiny preference for Ivy but both lovely

Grace Grey sounds fine though.

AmeliaJack · 01/11/2016 17:59

Grace is a lovely name but I would be concerned about ending up Grace Gray too.

Almost all the people I know with double barrelled names are referred to casually by their first name and the second surname by other people.

Baylisiana · 01/11/2016 17:59

Grace, Scarlett and Ivy would all work I think, but the one that flows best with the surname to me is Ivy.

Ivy Samuels Grey ...(or the others).....and born on hallowe'en.....this girl is so cool already! Congrats OP.

Halloweensnake · 01/11/2016 17:57

Beautiful name x
