Angelica Lettice ... ... (my pick)
Lettice Thalia ... ...(DH's pick)

Frederik Bertram ... ... (DH's pick)
William Horatio ... ... (my pick)

When on my "I'm on" page I saw someone on another thread had said "No Cabbage" and I legitimately thought it was this thread.

What does that tell you?

stonygreysoil · 29/10/2016 09:22

i think Leticia is good mix of practicality and tribute to the family member.

Angelica not my cup of tea, but not the worst..

unless you're continental, i would stick the C back in Frederik. Otherwise all good on that front

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 29/10/2016 09:18

Ahah ahaha! Good one OP.

Oh, you're not joking?

It's slightly worrying that you see nothing wrong with naming your child Lettice and children mocking her for this. As an adult, the jokes won't seem so bad, but as a child, they will be horrendous. Don't do that to them!

Frederik William

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 29/10/2016 09:09

I like :
Angelica Bluebell
Thalia Lettice

Frederick William
William Frederik

DameSquashalot · 29/10/2016 08:56

I love William Horatio, I quite liked Angelica Lettice until I saw the pronunciation.

EverySongbirdSays · 29/10/2016 01:35

I think Angelica is more popular in America, and it goes back hundreds of years there eg Angelica Schyler. Lettice, as others point out became Laeticia, but it is also Laetyss as Laetyss Knoylls who was I think Anne Boleyn's niece and a member of the Tudor Court.

I knew an old lady named Lettice and Letty IS cute but Lettice she will be on the register. I read a thing recently - rule of thunmb imagine your cute little baby as a grown up in grown up situations having to introduce themselves

I'm PC Lettice Jones, Lettice Jones MP, Letticee Jones QC and act accordingly.

The talking mice comment cruel but hilarious I'm afraid. Some names as cute and different as they maybe just aren't popular for good reason.

CakeRattleandRoll · 29/10/2016 01:22

Both boys names are fine. I agree with pps that unusual/quirky middle names are great.

I like Angelica, too. And Lettice is fine as a mn, but I definitely wouldn't use it as a first name. But my favourite is Ottilie Bluebell!

SpunkyMummy · 29/10/2016 01:07

I agree, Bunty :)

Good job, DH :)!

Just popped on to say how much I really love the name Bertram. Fabulous

SpunkyMummy · 29/10/2016 00:59

Leh-TEES? No. I would have vetoed that.

I love Lettice and I really love Bertram

pictish · 29/10/2016 00:56

Then no. Obviously.
You may not call your daughter Lettuce. It is forbidden.

KoalaDownUnder · 29/10/2016 00:55

'Rather similar'? It sound identical, surely?

KoalaDownUnder · 29/10/2016 00:54

Oh. I think the leh-TEES pronunciation is pretty, but if you're pronouncing it the same as 'lettuce'...just no.

SpunkyMummy · 29/10/2016 00:54

pic I don't put lettuce on my sandwich... But yes, it does sound rather similar.

OP posts:
pictish · 29/10/2016 00:49

Like lettuce like you'd put in a sandwich...yes or no?

SpunkyMummy · 29/10/2016 00:48

Koala LET-iss, the English pronounciation...

OP posts:
KoalaDownUnder · 29/10/2016 00:44

You're going to pronounce it the same way as the salad vegetable??

Surely Lettice is pronounced 'Leh-TEESE'? Confused

SpunkyMummy · 29/10/2016 00:41

bounty I disagree :). But thank you for commenting.

Bountybarsyuk · 29/10/2016 00:39
