William Horatio does sound a bit like "will u fellatio" or something...

I still like the name Horatio, but maybe not with William.

Frederick Horatio, for example...

Kids might not but it's when they're a teenager/adult that they will start getting that.

Arguably worse than kids name-calling on the playground as there is no end point.

pipi I actually agree with Josephine. The name William is probably too popular to get a lot of "Willy" jokes.

Given how popular William is currently in baby name popularity charts, I have to think that a William would only get name related bullying if he was a target for some other reason anyway.

The most teasable of all your suggested names is William with Willy!

I love the name Lettice and nickname Letty! Beautiful and not overused. I also like Horatio and Frederick.

Angelica is OK, but considering it is a herb, seems pretty ridiculous next to Lettice. Unless you add Radish as a third middle name...

But if we were to put Lettice on the bc... wouldn't a teacher still say Lettice for role call etc? So, the "Lettice" thing probably couldn't be avoided that way.

But we could use it as a 2nd name and call the LO Lettie, I think...

Just a thought - could you call her Letty? Either just Letty or Lettice/Lettys/Laetitia on the birth certificate but always known as Letty? Avoids the Lettuce thing but is quite pretty and fits in with the current Edwardian name vibe - Ettie/Millie/ Edie etc etc?

Lettice is a normal name, not something just invented. It's a bit old fashioned now. I see it as an Edwardian name, so maybe due for a renaissance. I like Thalia the best.

I don't like Angelique. I did go to a mainly French speaking school, so I'm actually not sure why. But I usually prefer the Italian versions of names (probably because of my originally Italian grandmother?).

DH seems to suddenly hate Angelica :(

And I just don't like the new names he put on his list: Honora, Millicent, Ottilie/Odilia and Iris (Iris is lovely, but it reminds me of the Daesh..) :(

I also like the name Lettice...

Plus, the house we live in used to be Lettice's (DH's favourite great aunt). I didn't know her but from what I've seen/heard she was an absolutely lovely woman.

And she meant a lot to DH. So...
Idk. I came to the conclusion that the first name simply can't be Lettice.

The boy's names are basically sorted now. But the girl's names? I just don't like any. :(

There are some Lettices in my family tree but as a surname. I had no idea it was a first name as well.
