How would you spell Caden?

I know it isn't liked on here, so no need to say that. I'm just wondering on spelling. Would you assume a child, who told you their name was Caden, spell it as Caden? I really don't know on what the 'correct' spelling is. Is it supposed to be the same as Hayden/Jayden, so Cayden? Help!

I worked with a Kayden. I prefer the spelling Caden, though.

Loyly · 28/10/2016 16:28

I also prefer it spelt Caden, like Cadence, as another poster said.

NotYoda · 28/10/2016 16:25

Kayden

LearningHowToFly · 28/10/2016 16:24

I know a Kayden

jaykay34 · 28/10/2016 16:12

There are 3 at my school - Caiden, Caden and Kaiden (We've also got a Jayden, Payton and Haydon - and they are all in the same year!)

I think Caden or Cayden is best as an i makes me want to say it K-eye rather than K-ay

(If this is to write a birthday card or something rather than a name you are considering I think you need to ask as there are just too many variables)

stonygreysoil · 28/10/2016 09:24

Caden has its own meaning in welsh. Plus you get away from the Americanised use of K and Y..

8DaysAWeek · 28/10/2016 09:19

Well I'd spell it Cayden but clearly that's just wrong! Blush

stonygreysoil · 28/10/2016 09:14

Caden is much the best spelling if you have your heart set on it.

PotatoBread · 27/10/2016 22:23

Caiden is how I would spell it

Sophronia · 27/10/2016 21:38

I'd assume it was Kayden, but I prefer the Caden spelling.

thethoughtfox · 27/10/2016 20:57

I know a Kaden

FuckThatToOneSide · 27/10/2016 20:55

I'd spell it Kayden, but then I know one. His mum said she made the name up Confused. He is about 7 or 8 now I think and a bit of cheeky chappy! Not a bad boy though.

MitzyLeFrouf · 27/10/2016 20:26

Caden, similar to Cadence.

Pluto30 · 27/10/2016 20:25

I prefer it spelt Caden or Caiden.

sunshineintheclouds · 27/10/2016 19:51

My dss is "kaiden". Like every other name a thousand and one ways to spell it no doubt Confused

happymumof4crazykids · 27/10/2016 19:48

I know of two both spelt Caiden

TwentyCups · 27/10/2016 19:46

I only know one who is a Kayden. So that would be my go-to, although I think Kaiden (like Aiden) works. Caden seems fine though, similar to Cadence which is a girls name I love.
I love the name Kayden - unfortunately the only one I know is a family member so probably won't use it. It's a great name though, lucky you :)

Groovee · 27/10/2016 19:43

Caidan or Kaidan have been popular spellings at work. I prefer it with a C.

PinkSquash · 27/10/2016 19:42

C/Kaiden

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/10/2016 19:41

Kaiden.

Laquila · 27/10/2016 19:39

I also know one, also spelt Caiden!

princesshaley · 27/10/2016 19:38

I quite like it spelled as Kayden, as that's most popular. I also know a Kaidyn, which I'm not keen on, but it's another spelling. x

VixenLupin · 27/10/2016 19:38

I know one, spelled Caiden.
