What are your thoughts? Starting to think it's a bit 'safe'. She is here but I can't quite settle to the name. I've noticed a few posts about name regret on here, so glad I'm not the only one! Other contenders were Naomi and Rose. Honest opinions most welcome. We probably won't change her name anyway but it helps to discuss!

Lucy is sweet. I like Naomi but it has a lot of syllables and people will end up wanting to shorten it (kids def will). Rose is sweet but terribly popular as a first and middle name.

Thanks everyone!

I love all three names. We have a Lucy, Rose was on our final shortlist, and the only reason we didn't shortlist Naomi was because it didn't work with our surname.

No regrets over our choice of Lucy. She loves her name too. The only thing we didn't bank on was how popular it is as a dog's name. If we're in the park and someone shouts "Lucy!" the chances are it's a dog.

Chinlo · 23/10/2016 23:53

I like Lucy, love Naomi and not a fan of Rose.

I called my dog Lucy in fact Grin

winkywinkola · 23/10/2016 23:32

Love it.

YolandiFuckinVisser · 23/10/2016 23:16

I like Lucy. I tried to pretend my name was Lucy when I was 6. (It's a much nicer name than my own, we also had a cat called Lucy at the time).

My BFF is called Lucy, she's fucking brilliant!

Coey2016 · 23/10/2016 23:12

I like Lucy and Rose. Not so keen on Naomi.

AprilShowers16 · 23/10/2016 21:40

Lucy is one of my all time favourite names, every Lucy I have met has been wonderful too m. Rose was also our other choice if DS1 had been a girl :)

Cumberland · 23/10/2016 21:38

Lucy is great, don't like Rose.

drowninginpinkplastic · 23/10/2016 21:34

We have a Lucy and she's brilliant. We picked it as I had never met a nasty Lucy. When you see your baby you will just know what name suits her.

Notso · 23/10/2016 21:29

I think Rose is much nicer.

rslsys · 23/10/2016 21:29

We have a Lucy, middle daughter of three.
Liked the simplicity of it and have now discovered other Lucys in previous generations.
Gets 'abbreviated' to Lou, Looby Lou or Luce (pronounced loose!)

rainbow99 · 23/10/2016 21:15

Lucy is a lovely name, it was on our list Smile

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 23/10/2016 21:07

Lucy Heather is beautiful OP.

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 23/10/2016 20:57

I'm biased with rose as that's the name we.are using if this baby is a girl. I like Naiomi but its just OK. Lucy is a lovely name and definitely timeless, also lobe heather as middle name.

Volatile · 23/10/2016 20:52

Well, I really don't like Lucy, as you're asking, but I know a lot of them so clearly my view is not that of most. LOVE Rose though!

Gunpowder · 23/10/2016 20:51

Sorry x post! Love Heather as middle.

Gunpowder · 23/10/2016 20:50

Agree Lucy is timeless. It's a classic and has always been popular(ish), so I don't think will date as much as some other names ending in an 'e' sound that are popular at the moment. (Molly, Milly, Evie, etc.) Maybe go for an unusual middle name?

insan1tyscartching · 23/10/2016 20:45

I have one and always have positive reactions. It's a name that grows with her so sounds just as good for a teenager as it did when she was a toddler. I have a Rosie too, she chose her sister's name.

MidnightVelvetthe7th · 23/10/2016 20:45

I like Lucy and also Lucia :)

Stevefromstevenage · 23/10/2016 20:43

Love it. I know one and she is one of my fav little girls.

Tattyjet · 23/10/2016 20:42

Thanks again for your feedback! Very pleasantly surprised at the (majority) love for Lucy.
