If you don't like these names, what names do you like?

I don't like most of these though I like Lily (Bayleigh is the worst IMO).

I like classic names really like Rebecca, Charlotte etc. I'm not totally against more modern names but I like ones that are stronger and prettier ... not a name like Bayleigh that looks quite messy written down.
I also think it's really important to have a name that people won't judge you on (yes yes, unfair to judge a child on their name but people do) - Teddie is really cute but it should stand for more grown up name that she could use for applying for jobs and introducing herself in more formal settings (plus what if she isn't all cute and little girly and instead is quite serious and strong etc ... Teddie would be all wrong).

My Charlotte's nn is Dot or Dotty but that came because her twin couldn't say her full name.

I like Maddie but not Madison.

I have a family member who has a boy called Bailey. No problem. Bayleigh in my mind isn't a name. I've never heard of it for a girl spelt like that. No offence meant to anyone.

I don't believe in giving longer names on birth certificates as your name is your name and I don't think that alternatives are necessary but Dottie is so cute but doesn't feel like a real name so might need something else. I like simple names which can work anywhere without giving a preconceived idea so names that many people would call boring such as Zoe, Jessica, Olivia, Mia, Katie, Sophia. As much as i can't bear Bayleigh, Kayleigh kind of names I have an equal aversion to try hard posh names such as Clementine, Cressida, Arabella, Hero and such like.

Dottie and Teddie are sweet nicknames but IMO should be Dorothy/Dorothea and Theodora respectively on birth certificate.

Madison - no
Teddie - okay as a baby/toddler nick name only.

How about, Lottie, Maisie, Ruby, Hattie, Cassie, Laura, Katy or Molly.

Bayleigh - WTF? and why?
Ivory awful, sorry. Why would you call a daughter after a product of animal cruelty?
I've always disliked Madison - so many lovely names out there, why choose that?
Teddie and Dottie as actual given names, no.
Lily is nice but at saturation point.

I like traditional names - Anna, Lucy, Louisa, Clara, Emily, Charlotte, Victoria, Sophia; Biblical ones - Sarah, Miriam, Mary, Rebecca, Naomi; and Shakespearean ones - Miranda, Rosalind, Beatrice, Helena.

I dislike most the names in OP. They are fluffy & wimpy in my mind.
I have conservative tastes so I like traditional (sounding) names w/ lots of trad. nicknames, like Daniel, Samuel, Catherine, etc. I prefer hints of "strong" in the names, so I wouldn't go for Persephone or Dorothy, either... actually, Madison works 4 me.

I'm a huge believer in just go 4 what U like, though, & damn any critics.

lily's ubiquitous but not bad.
bayleigh/madison are a bit chav declasse
ivory is hideous (ivy and Vivienne/valerie if you like the sound?)
teddie and dottie are both shortenings for theodora or dorothy/dorothea which are much much better.

Not a fan of any. I think they are too trendy, too obviously 'of the time'.

My favourite names are Vera, Colin, Clement, June and Sorrel.

Hang on, isn't OP saying that she doesn't like these names, and asking people who also hate the names to suggest some that they do like? think she is trying to weed out the wheat from the chaff

I don't really like those names tbh, there's nothing wrong with them, they're just not to my taste.
I prefer Madeline to Madison and quite like Teddie as a nn. lily is nice, Ivory and Dottie I don't really like at all.
