Has anyone been 100% set on a name for years

And partner like it too, and ended up not using it? If so, why?

We've had our future baby names set for years (and the boy name long before I met DP) but now we're getting closer to making actual babies I'm starting to doubt our choices. I still love the names but I just don't feel so sure.

Highly theoretical conversation I know but interested to hear from others.

Sorry meant to say, set from childhood.

I was absolutely set on one girl's name, can't say for sure I would have used it but certainly intended to - two lovely boys though so it didn't happen! Might use it for a pet one day Smile

My long-term favourite names were ruled out by being given to the children of very close friends. But I think that when you are naming an actual child it changes how you feel about names anyway - our shortlist wasn't what I would have predicted it to be. It is exciting discussing names when you are pregnant - I don't think I would have wanted to go into it having already decided.
