Last chance to change my daughter's name to Bianca

I just love the name Bianca. We have named her already but she isn't officially registered.

People will immediately think of Eastenders though won't they? Or has long enough passed?

She also seems to have red hair which won't help the association.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I like Hermione and Bianca. You can absolutely change if you want to. What does she suit best and what does your DP think (if you have one)

PotteringAlong · 04/10/2016 18:56

Boa can?! Bianca!

PotteringAlong · 04/10/2016 18:55

Do NOT change from hermione to boa can!

BuggertheTabloids · 04/10/2016 18:54

Hermione is so much better, stick with it!

AmeliaJack · 04/10/2016 18:35

I don't think the Eastenders thing is a problem.

Call your DD what you and your DP like.

hollyisalovelyname · 04/10/2016 18:29

I know a Bianca. Nothing like the Eastenders character. A tall, beautiful, gentle, willowy blonde.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 04/10/2016 18:22

Heroine is much better than Bianca.I now have riiicccckkkkyyyyy going through my head

sonlypuppyfat · 04/10/2016 18:20

Wasn't Bianca a mouse?

Obliviated · 04/10/2016 18:18

Ziva is totally from NCIS. I thought she was brilliant.

They all were! The book was so much better - Disney ruin everything, in my opinion. Sad

originalmavis · 04/10/2016 18:13

She was naked????? Eek!

HoratioNightboy · 04/10/2016 18:12

Are you perhaps thinking of the film version originsalmavis? I was too old for it by the time they did a film version but in the book I think she only had a gold chain round her neck.

Or maybe I'm just getting old... I can't even remember the name of the prisoner they were trying to rescue.

nancy75 · 04/10/2016 18:08

Bianca is nicer than hermione and kids she goes to school with won't know bianca from EE but they probably will read/watch Harry Potter

originalmavis · 04/10/2016 18:05

And she wore a big coat with a furcollar and furry hat.

HoratioNightboy · 04/10/2016 18:04

Yes, it was! The first time I'd ever heard the name. Smile

originalmavis · 04/10/2016 18:02

Was that The Rescuers?

HoratioNightboy · 04/10/2016 17:59

There was a mouse called Miss Bianca in one of my favourite childhood books, so I used to love the name. I still like it, and think it's far prettier than Hermione.

MistressMolecules · 04/10/2016 17:43

All 3 are nice names - I didn't think Eastenders but I did think NCIS for Ziva, but she was a cool character so that is ok! I think you have to go with what you are happy with.

juneau · 04/10/2016 17:41

Bianca + red hair - oh that's a tough one. I don't think I'd do it.
Hermione = Harry Potter
Ziva? Zika?

Back to the drawing board!

MitzyLeFrouf · 04/10/2016 17:37

Bianca is certainly a better option than Hermione!

Ziva reminds me of the Zika virus.

skyyequake · 04/10/2016 17:06

Bianca = EastEnders
Hermione = Harry Potter
Ziva = NCIS

Sorry OP not very helpful Grin I like Hermione and Ziva the best objectively!

mamapants · 04/10/2016 17:02

I think if you are considering changing her name that must mean you prefer Brancaster. Did you choose hermione over Brancaster because you were worried about the Eastenders thing? Bianca is nice, people might be daft enough to take the piddle once or twice but they'll soon get other it.

ample · 04/10/2016 16:55

I don't think of Eastenders because I don't watch the show or know of the character.
You have already chosen a name with well-known associations however so it's six and two threes really imo.

Regardless of who matches the name with the soap drama right now; children born in 2016 or your DD's future peers won't know of the Eastenders character you are referring to, say, in 10 or 15 years time

tickingthebox · 04/10/2016 16:38

Hermione, 1000% so much better name than Biancaaaaa (which people will say in a mockney accent every time you introduce her).

chinlo · 04/10/2016 16:34

Both names are quite strongly linked to one specific fictional character, so if we discount that issue and just look at which name is nicer....

Hermione still wins.
