Simon or Paul?!?

We are debating if we should go with Simon or Paul??

I prefer Paul, although they are both solid Biblical names that will be due a comeback at some point. The question is, is now the time? Actually I think it could be.

Simon. I've always loved it, it's my youngests middle name.

Paul just sounds boring and dates to me (and I know it's the same sort of name is Simon, so that's completely irrational!)

I prefer Simon. In the same category, I like names, David, Matthew, Mark, Nicholas, and Peter.

I find it hard to imagine a baby Paul or Simon but I think it would work as they get older. Both are decent names but I prefer Paul.

I'm not majorly keen on either but think Simon would go better with Amanda (which I like - know a very lovely Amanda)

Simon. Lovely classic name.

I'd go Peter rather than Paul, but I always prefer two syllable names.

David also lovely. Matthew even better.

There are sooo many Pauls in this world. All 30/40 something bellends in the main.

Simon is nice, it's my db's name, but I've always thought it old for him and he's 29.

I've always loved the name Simon.

Like Paul too, but Simon is much better.

I like both but prefer Paul, my DH is a paul and I know a few, they are lovely blokes definitely not train spotters and I have to nag mine to mow the lawn.

Both sensible names that you can conceivably imagine a grown up man being able to introduce himself by without embarrassment.

The only downside is that your child will likely have a very unusual name for his generation, there'll probably be males 40 years older and younger with the same name but very few of his peers. The names may be used more often in his age group if you attend church, not sure if this is the case.

I too know some Pauls who are tossers, but it was a popular name so am sure there a lovely Pauls too!

Matthew, Mark also v popular retro names.
