Would really like to know your thoughts on these names!

I know a Stephanie shortened to Fanny by teasing girls. Alright as a middle name tho.

Lucked · 18/09/2016 09:34

I like them although I have a slight preference for Stephan having had a massive crush on one in the 90s

Yika · 18/09/2016 09:31

I like Stephen very much, a great classic.

Stephanie sounds a bit harsh to me.

QuimReaper · 18/09/2016 01:00

I hate Stephanie too! I think because it only shortens to Steph, and it always shortens to Steph, and Steph is horrid.

katemess12 · 18/09/2016 00:53

I like Stephen, but hate Stephanie.

Also, agree that Stephanie will inevitably be shortened to Steph.

DramaAlpaca · 18/09/2016 00:51

I like Stephen, it's a classic that's fallen out of favour.

Stephanie I don't like so much, but it would be fine as a middle name.

gemmawinegum · 18/09/2016 00:48

Stephen seems to be one of those traditional but yet good names that seems to be on its way to extinction. I can't remember the last time iheard a child called Stephen.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 18/09/2016 00:46

Yes, Stephen is fine for a middle name 😀

Caldini22 · 17/09/2016 23:08

I like Stephanie I think it's pretty. Not so keen on Stephen as a first name but ok as middle name.

tapismagique · 17/09/2016 21:47

I was amazed by how few Stephens there are in the 2015 ONS baby names data so it would be an unusual choice, even though it doesn't seem like a rare name. You have to be okay with Steve, though. And Steph for Stephanie because they will 100% definitely be abbreviated

ElmerTheElephant · 17/09/2016 21:05

Ah I did wonder! Grin

How about Stephania? I do like Stephen and tbh, if it's for a middle name and for the reason you've mentioned, I think Stephanie is fine too. I just don't particularly love it as a first name,

user1474133568 · 17/09/2016 20:45

No way for twins/siblings Grin

My maiden name was Stephens, so looking at middle name options.

Like Stephanie, not Stephen

ElmerTheElephant · 17/09/2016 19:55

I'm a bit like midsomer. I quite like Stephen but not Stephanie for some reason.

If you're talking about naming a brother and sisters Stephen and Stephanie then I would say no.

Giratina · 17/09/2016 19:13

I used to know siblings called that. I thought their parents lacked imagination.

midsomermurderess · 17/09/2016 19:12

I like Stephen but , irrationally, not Stephanie, and particularly not Steph.

TaliDiNozzo · 17/09/2016 18:51

As twins? No.

As individual names they're fine.
