Which do you prefer? Only 2 names me and DP can agree on so far. Further suggestions would be helpfulSmile

I read on here the other day that the name 'Gus' is "everywhere" now

Well, that was me - and tbf, I should probably have specified 'in Australia'. But yes, I know loads of little boys called Gus - as a NN for 'Angus'.

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 13/09/2016 14:32

I wouldn't take anything on here too personally flumplet. People sometimes exaggerate a little about the popularity of baby names on here. I read on here the other day that the name 'Gus' is "everywhere" now Confused. I haven't met a Theodore either btw. I love it and it's on my list for (hypothetical) future DCs.

MitzyLeFrouf · 13/09/2016 14:31

I find Theodore a bit geeky, but not geeky in a good way like Linus for example.

MitzyLeFrouf · 13/09/2016 14:30

Fabian is lovely. Not remotely stripperish or camp to me!

schbittery · 13/09/2016 14:27

I love Fabian - I grew up in Switzerland where it's very common.

I don't know where the PP lives but round here no modern school kid would blink or give 2 shits what you are called, unless it sounded obviously to do with poo or sex, because they are surrounded by kids from so many different cultures and countries now and have heard every name under the sun before they leave primary school, it being 2016 and all.

flumplet · 13/09/2016 14:23

I have a 'common' and 'dull' Theodore ShockBlushHmm. He's the only one I know and he's lovely. HTH.

mollie123 · 13/09/2016 14:19

teen idol from the 60s - fabulous fabian - but maybe that does not concern you!
Theo (as a name in its own right) is nice.

minipie · 13/09/2016 14:13

Theodore

Fabian is a leetle bit wanky.

I like Theodore but perhaps in more nickname form, i.e. Theo or Teddy. I've also never met a nice Fabian. I've known three, all grown men, but they've all been miserable and a sourpuss, so that makes me biased I guess!

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 13/09/2016 14:04

Theodore by miles for me! I love it!

Pipilangstrumpf · 12/09/2016 13:58

Fabian is great! Cool and strong.

Theo(odore) is very common and a a little dull imo.

PotatoBread · 12/09/2016 12:26

Fabian is what I would imagine a male stripper would call himself if he was really called Dwayne

MrsCaecilius · 12/09/2016 12:04

Theodore. I find Fabian rather fey.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 12/09/2016 11:20

Fabian

puckercup · 12/09/2016 11:10

Fabian seems very camp to me.

squoosh · 12/09/2016 11:06

Fabian is dreamy.

Loyly · 12/09/2016 10:10

Theodore

PatriciaHolm · 12/09/2016 09:52

Fabby or Teddy?

Teddy!

Oysterbabe · 12/09/2016 09:46

I think Fabian is awful. Definitely Theo.

t4nut · 12/09/2016 09:46

You might as well get your child a t shirt saying 'kick the crap out of me' printed up for school now.

Sophronia · 12/09/2016 09:44

Definitely Fabian. Theodore is everywhere.

Foxtato · 12/09/2016 08:24

Fabian.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 12/09/2016 05:11

I like both. Theodore is more common

PotatoBread · 12/09/2016 03:55

Theodore.

puckercup · 12/09/2016 01:35

Theodore is okay, and it's about a gazillion times better than Fabian.
