Edith or Seren? Born in 6 days!

Hi everyone,
We already have an Ella and an Austin... And soon to be little lady. Having a dilemma between Seren or Edith, or any others you think may suit Confused please can you help? Many thanks x

How do you pronounce Seren? Se-ren? I have never heard this name before.

If you aren't Welsh why would you pick a Welsh name? What would you shorten it to?

I prefer Edith, it is classical and feminine and the nickname Edie is cute.

Seren. Beautiful soft name. Its really lovely and goes with your other children's names.

Edith sounds edgier and older. It leaves me a bit cold. I prefer Edie but even so Seren is perfect so therefore Edith can't be!

Seen, I know Edith iis becoming popular but it is still an old ladies' name to me, Seren is timeless

Seren!! It's a beautiful name. I know of a Seren Haf which I think means summer star in Welsh

I don't understand the love for Edith either. Although it's not quite as bad as Ethel though which is what Lily Allen called her daughter.

Seren is lovely and goes with your other children's names whilst letting her have a different initial (Miss E ... - can be confusing).

I can only hear Edith as an old lady name (I had a great aunt Edith)

I like Eira too, may have to spell her name in England all the time though.
I think it's going to be Seren thanks to you lovely ladies! We'll meet her first of course to make sure the name fits... However you do that with a newborn Smile
On to middle names....Hmm
