Masculine girls names

Any suggestions? Think Dylan, James, Aaron, etc for a little girl.

The most obvious are Charlie and Jamie but I'm not so keen on those.

I love American "surname for first names" especially unisex ones, already used Parker and Carter.

Interestingly (well, I think it is) Shakespeare might have invented Jessica. It was certainly first recorded in one of his plays.

Personally I'd avoid being cutting edge & radical when it comes to a child's name. Something that gives options of soft, neutral or tough

Riley taylor I know a female Rickie ,Frankie Robyn. Fwiw dh has a girls name he was teased relentlessly especially at secondary school I hope times have changed

I've just realised I have a boys name. Loki. Never caused me any issues. Apart from people usually assuming that I was the naughty one. I was but that's not the point

As a person with a unisex name, it sucks quite frankly.

Please help me understand why ANYONE would do this to their most beloved child because I've never had a satisfactory answer from my parents.

I was treated horrendously at primary school by kids in my class and older as my brother was 2 school years ahead of me. The only way I could stop was by fighting.

Yes, Your it is exactly that - very irritating. I think if I hadn't been brought up surrounded by people using it as that insult I could see past it but sadly not. Such a shame when a name is spoiled. However, am always glad to come across a male Jesse and compliment them (and their parents) on their name!!!

Surf Is it a negative insult for a "girly-boy" where you are? My DM is half Scottish and was dead against me using it for that reason Blush

LOVE Jesse as a boy's name. Sadly IN Scotland it is a no-no (at least where I am from!)

Not sure if it's already been suggested but I love Bryn. Also like Ryan and Taylor a lot.
Love Piper and Harper (not really "boy" names but a little more on the masculine side.)

It is a feminist issue for me. Why aren't girl's names good enough? Nobody would ever give a boy a girl's name. "Unisex" means "boys". And once a name becomes identified with girls, people stop using it for boys- it becomes "devalued".

There are lovely names that girls and women have been carrying for centuries- and new ones that are for girls alone. why not use them proudly for our girls?
