Masculine girls names

Any suggestions? Think Dylan, James, Aaron, etc for a little girl.

The most obvious are Charlie and Jamie but I'm not so keen on those.

I love American "surname for first names" especially unisex ones, already used Parker and Carter.

No names are gender neutral, they all originate as boys or girls name, and then if they are used by either sex, then they become gender neutral. Or they start as surnames, and are then used as given names.

Call your baby exactly what you want, irregardless of sex, be it Alex, Noah, Charlotte or Michael.

I think unisex names are nice, but agree it does all tend to be a bit, here is a pool of good, strong, normal names, all of which would be cool for boys and for girls, but 'just' girl names are only for girls and therefore somehow inferior, because they are for girls, the implication being girls and girl things are also slightly inferior. You know, like the anti-pinkification issue. I am all for not pinkifying everything for girls and do not agree with blue for boys/pink for girls, but there is a certain school of thought that is happy and proud for a daughter to play with boy things and would look down on a doll. If your kid, of either sex, wants to play with a doll, that should be fine, not looked down on because it was traditionally a girl thing, otherwise we are just back to the old routine of women and girls being regarded as second best. Sorry for inarticulate ramblings.

I had a hairdresser called Morgan when I was a teenager- had a bit of a girl crush on her and was obsessed by her name, still love it! Far far prefer strong girls names like those on this thread than twee, pretentious names like Imogen and Harriet.

Unisex names are one thing.

Calling a girl Adrian (or any other clearly boy's name) is another thing.

I am a feminist and anti gender stereotyping but calling a girl a boy's name is not being "gender neutral". It is indicating to the world that this person is a boy. Which she is not.

we really like Murphy for a girl, it didn't go down well on here (but oh well)! we are also considering Maverick for a boy!

FWIW I suspect what we are seeing here is a backlash to the popularity of all the 'little girl' names ending in 'y' or 'ie' and 'a', the current top 10 girls names have 8 names ending in a and 2 ending in y (Amelia, Olivia, Emily, Isla, Ava, Ella, Jessica, Isabella, Mia, Poppy). My parents and their friends (all born in the 1930s and 1940s) have lots of unisex (nick)names e.g. Chris, Bobby, Sandy, Lesley, Lindsay etc. In another 10 years we'll have lots of these unisex names, it's just the wheel of fashion going round.

I love that lots of posters are saying they don't think of it as a girls name and I absolutely agree, however having seen the reactions to it and assumptions with my son over the last 5 years I can safely say lots of people do think it's a girls name. Anyway I'm of the opinion that people associate names with people they know and so for every person that meets ds they'll now think of him when they hear the name.

Andie was on my short list for DD, I love it but I thought we might seem a bit toy story obsessed HA!
I also really liked Aubrey.
