Desperately trying to settle on a name, hubby loves Vincent, I've had final say on the last four names we've chosen (cos he's nice like that) ! He's liked Vincent for a long time, but I'm just not sure of how I feel about the name.. Is it too stuffy / dull?!
Would appreciate opinions / suggestions,
Thank you :)

Vinnie - a thug with a baseball bat.

FinnegansCake · 01/09/2016 22:57

Clawdy - starry starry night was my first thought too Smile

Definitely Van Gogh, but I think of his paintings rather than the artist himself.

I love Vincent and Vinnie as a nn. Though to be honest I stirs up some American sitcom 'sterotype' as an Italian gangster type, 'yo, cousin vin-ney, how you doin'

I may have watched too many sitcoms as a child 😯

Van Gogh and the clever and gorgeous boy I had a massive crush on at school.

BagelGoesWalking · 01/09/2016 22:54

Can't believe no one has mentioned Vincent Price! Grin

I know 3 Vincents in RL, all really nice blokes, but all middle-aged. 2 go by Vince the third is a Vinnie. I dont have any negative views of the name, quite the opposite just feel that its a bit older blokey, like Steve or Neil.

bushtailadventures · 01/09/2016 22:51

Vincent D'onofrio, very good actor, is the first thing that springs to mind Smile

I know a Vincent who is 8, lovely boy, always called Vincent too, never Vince or Vinnie. I know an older Vinnie, he's nice too, if thats any help?

Pope Vincent ? thought it straight away

monkeygone · 01/09/2016 22:46

I just think it's a really cool name. Unfortunately I hate the nn Vinnie, so I'd be scared to use it myself.

queensansastark · 01/09/2016 22:45

Starry starry night.....I like Vincent but not Vinnie.

ElsaAintAsColdAsMe · 01/09/2016 22:37

Definitely Vincent from beauty and the beast for me.

Awesome name.

Queenbean · 01/09/2016 22:37

Also. Vince rhymes with mince

Mybeardeddragonjustdied2016 · 01/09/2016 22:36

Mm nothing wrong with Vinnie Jones!!

iklboo · 01/09/2016 22:35

An absolutely brilliant bloke at work I have tons of respect for. Great boss (not mine, sadly) but always gives credit where it's due, can spot bullshitters a mile off. He's always pleasant, always asks how you are, remembers stuff about you - not in a creepy way - and is very calm in a crisis.

iwouldgoouttonight · 01/09/2016 22:35

I'd think of Van Gogh or two Vincents I know at work (one is known as Vin) who are both quite cool and arty.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 01/09/2016 22:34

Ooo, Vince from Queer As Folk.

Also a good dancer. Career motivated. Loved his mum. Clean and tidy.

Queenbean · 01/09/2016 22:34

There were two very Naughty Boys at school called Vincent so I would always have that association
