Saul.

Biblical and just an M and an E removed from Samuel to make Saul too.

Bless your DS!

Ah bless, that is so sweet, the poor little fellow! What about asking him for some help picking the name and that could help ease the blow and bond him with his new brother?

Could you use Samuel as a middle name for the new baby instead?

Daniel
Jacob
Joseph
Matthew

These names have a similar feel to them

I've always thought that children named after parents can get confusing. Can you make Samuel a second or middle name?

isitseptemberyet · 30/08/2016 20:56

Our eldest son is ten, we arent estranged , we went on to have three girls after our first son, so we've always referred to him as our 'only special boy'! He's Very close to his dad, and has felt a bit anxious about us loving another boy. He doesnt want the new baby to be called Sam/ Samuel after his dad as tht may make the baby more special than him (he's a sensitive soul)!
The other name we like is Hugo, but i dont Love it. We like biblical (although we arent religious) , solid, old fashioned names, maybe a bit more leaning to the 'posh side' !
Any help would be so appreciated :)

Samson?

ImperialBlether · 30/08/2016 20:50

Is your eldest son estranged from his father?

Do you like short names or longer names? Traditional or new?

Just Sam?
