Macy v Luna

We already have a Rosalind and a Wulfric (Wolfie) and rarely on mumsnet do people likes the names I pick but we're having a girl soon and we like Macy and Luna, although I can just see all the moon/wolf jokes that could potentially come up with children named Luna and Wolfie.

So which do you prefer?

I prefer Macy.

villainousbroodmare · 28/08/2016 12:43

Margot. Imo Macy is a bit tacky and Luna is not pretty, is overused and has strong connotations of lunacy.

BroomhildaVonShaft · 28/08/2016 07:07

Oh and margot is beautiful and goes very well with rosalind.

BroomhildaVonShaft · 28/08/2016 07:07

Neither. Luna is lovely but a bit comedy with wolfie. Macy is just horrible. Mace - macerate - mispronunciation of maisy - mason. Generally a horrible pair of sounds, I don't know why anyone would choose it.

somekindofmother · 28/08/2016 07:04

Macy reminds me of Macy from 16&pregnant!
Luna is from Harry Potter!

Rosalind, Wulfric & Margot are all classy, classic names.

user1471501988 · 28/08/2016 06:48

Margot, for sure.

GoldenWorld · 27/08/2016 22:35

Pick Margo! Although I prefer the Margot spelling. I wouldn't use Luna with a Wolfie (can just imagine Wolfie and Loony, not good) and Macy really doesn't compare at all to the beautiful, Shakesperian Rosalind.

Marcipex · 27/08/2016 17:56

Margo is lovely and also is as classy as Rosalind.

I quite like Macy, but it doesn't go with your other choices.

Please not Luna, they will all end up being called Loony at the slightest provocation. I speak as one with an awkward first name myself.

daisypond · 27/08/2016 17:46

Macy just makes me think of the big American department store. It'd be like calling your child Debenham - sorry! I'm not keen on Luna either, I'm afraid. I think Margo/Margot (prefer the second spelling) is lovely.

Honeybee79 · 27/08/2016 17:22

Quite like both but prefer Luna

Sophronia · 26/08/2016 23:34

Margo or Margot is much nicer than the other choices

Kittykatmacbill · 26/08/2016 22:11

Love margot! Please pick it I wasn't allowed for my dds, love love love. And goes nicely with your other names without being matchy matchy like Luna.

Macy always seems a bit naff and isn't a 'old name' like your others.

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 26/08/2016 20:12

Love Margot too!

SorenaJ · 26/08/2016 20:07

Luna

ClashCityRocker · 26/08/2016 19:35

I dislike Luna - sounds to much like loonie.

Love wulfric!

I like Margo.

MrsGsnow18 · 26/08/2016 19:34

Margo is lovely too. I really like it, much nicer than Macy I think.

KoalaDownUnder · 26/08/2016 19:31

I really dislike Luna. But Macy doesn't go with your other names at all. Confused

Fluffsnuts · 26/08/2016 19:26

I love Luna. DH vetoed it :(

Dontrocktheboat · 26/08/2016 19:07

Margo is better than Macy though Luna is nicer than both.

Dontrocktheboat · 26/08/2016 19:06

Luna is nice.

Macy is nowhere near the league of your other names.

I'm not sure about Luna with Wulfric either though!

duskonthelawn · 26/08/2016 16:07

Luna is beautiful
I like Margo Smile

Joinourclub · 26/08/2016 16:06

Luna goes better with your other children's names I think.

TheMoonIsGrey · 26/08/2016 16:02

We also like Margo but DH keeps going back and forth on it

Luna for me too.

Dayna1 · 26/08/2016 15:58

Luna is a bit too exotic for me, I'd go with Macy.
