Pregnant with dc3 and not finding out about the gender! So here's the shortlist for each sex, just wondering which are your favourites and honest opinions? We have Emilia and Rafe already Smile

Girls:
Carly
Elodie
Ava
Bella

Boys:
Leo
Ezra
Finn

Why not Caroline nick name Carly.
Elodie is nice too.
Finn still the best of your boy choice

hollyisalovelyname · 20/08/2016 16:26

Carly
Finn

Pinklily1 · 20/08/2016 16:21

I don't like Carly or Elodie at all, but really like all of your other names. Elodie seems to be becoming increasingly popular too.

For a girl I'd go with Ava and for a boy i'd go with Leo.

pennyunwise · 20/08/2016 11:13

I think you have good taste in names! (Except for Carly, lol)

Boys:
Leo - our current top choice for our soon-to-be-born DS
Ezra - WAS out top choice previously, but people in our country can't pronounce it so we had to ditch it.
Finn - Was very high on our list, but we prefer two syllables to one

Girls:
Elodie - Nice, a bit different.
Ava - Really nice.
Bella - Okay
Carly - horrible (sorry!)

WhatTheDickensian · 20/08/2016 11:00

I have to agree with Jink: Carla, Carly etc sound harsh to my ear and are dated.

But names are such a personal thing. If you love the name then go with it. I bet you would hate some of the names I love. There is no "right" name hat everyone will feel the same about.

JinkxMonsoon · 20/08/2016 10:45

Oh dear, you're very stuck on Carly aren't you? Grin I just think it sounds horrible. Ditto Carla, tbh!

Ricecreespees · 20/08/2016 08:22

Actually just had a thought, what about Carla with a nickname Carly and then when she's a bit older it's back to Carla as its a bit more mature and people might like it more?

OP posts:
Ricecreespees · 20/08/2016 08:20

Yes I like Eloise too whatthe but we can't use it because my "friend" is a right pain and it's DH's mums name.

OP posts:
WhatTheDickensian · 20/08/2016 08:12

Carly is very dated.

Love Ezra.

If your girls names Elodie is best but I prefer Eloise.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 20/08/2016 08:09

Definitely not. Carly is just not as nice. Cara however is totally different and would be good.

Bella and Finn out of your lists

Ricecreespees · 20/08/2016 08:06

At the moment I seem to like Carly for some unknown reason must be pregnancy hormones Grin
Do people think we shouldn't choose it with an Emilia and a Rafe already? Smile

OP posts:
KimmySchmidtsSmile · 20/08/2016 01:50

Emilia Rafe and Bella
Emilia Rafe and Finn

ClockMakerSue · 20/08/2016 01:47

Love Ezra. Elodie and Carly are my favourite on the girl list. I am surprised I like Carly...don't know why!

LowAMH · 20/08/2016 00:31

Ava or Leo

Not Carly

DramaAlpaca · 20/08/2016 00:25

I like Ava or Elodie & Leo or Finn with your other DC's names.

Propertyquandry · 20/08/2016 00:20

I think Finn goes best with your other children's names. I used to work with an Elodie who spent half her life explaining to people that her name was not Melody.
I'm not keen on Carly. What about Cora? The Emilia I know has a sister called Juliette and a brother called Theo. Smile

Ricecreespees · 19/08/2016 23:36

That's a bit weird trapped why would you go around saying that...just go and bloody change it or not choose it in the first placeHmm

OP posts:
TrappedNerve · 19/08/2016 22:57

There are 4 Ava's in dd's class at school ( she's 5 ) it's very common.
Carly does not go with the other dc names you already have.
Ezra I don't like, Leo is lovely. Finn I'm on the fence over. Belle is nice but don't like Bella, I also like Theo, Oliver and I love Oscar, that would be the boy name for me.
Girls names? So hard as there are so many nice ones. I love Lucy and Lola and that's about it- sorry not much help but I do think baby names are such a personal decision.

I met a lady today who had a 9 month ds called Lucas and said she doesn't like his name, I assumed dh/dp had chosen it and it was in fact he that didn't like it before the birth and the lady loved it Hmm

albertcampionscat · 19/08/2016 22:46

Ezra and Finn are both sound names, but there's a risk they'll date. If that bothers you (not that it should) go for Leo.

HettyB · 19/08/2016 22:45

I think Carly sounds dreadful with your other DCs' names - sorry!

To me, Emilia and Rafe are 'naice', middle class names, and Carly is more...90s council estate.

Sorry to any Carlys out there!

Carla is much better, if you're set on it? Or, even better with your other DCs' names is Clara.

Sophronia · 19/08/2016 22:44

Ava and Leo

Ricecreespees · 19/08/2016 22:38

Yes a friend of mine said Carly wasn't classy and didn't go well with Emilia and Rafe, what do people think? It seems that most people think it's horrible...

OP posts:
JinkxMonsoon · 19/08/2016 22:21

Carly is far too 80s and doesn't match your other children's names. They're classy, and Carly is not.

And before any Carly's complain, I have a 70s/80s name that begins with a K and isn't classy either Grin

bluechameleon · 19/08/2016 22:18

Ava seems to have autocorrected to Available in my previous post.

bluechameleon · 19/08/2016 22:17

I like Elodie but would avoid having two of the same sex with the same initial. Available is lovely but very "now" if that would bother you. I like Bella, especially as a shortening of Arabella. Carl doesn't fit well with your first two for me.
out of the boys I like Leo best. Ezra fits well with Rafe and I don't think a repeated initial matters so much if they are different sexes. Finn I'm not so keen on.
