Rosalie?

We found out this week that baby number 4 is a girl Smile already have dd, ds1 & ds2 so we're evened up a bit now!
What does everyone think of Rosalie? My only concern is that she'd get Rosie for short which I'm not too keen on, but I love Rose. We're Scottish if that helps imagining the accent 😂

I know someone called Rosalie. I think it's a pretty name. She never gets it shortened.

Christine88 · 11/08/2016 21:19

Also on the shortening names bit I loved the name Vincent but hate vince or vinnie so we avoided it. Wish we hadn't as we went for Rupert thinking it wouldn't be shortened and people are constantly calling him Roo or Roops....which I hate!!!

Love it!!

Christine88 · 11/08/2016 21:17

Such a pretty name!

CurlyMoo · 11/08/2016 21:15

Although is people tended to pronounce it Rosa-Lee I wouldn't like it.

RiverTam · 11/08/2016 21:15

Rosalie is a lovely name. Of course you can use it without liking Rosie.

MrsGsnow18 · 11/08/2016 21:15

Also awesome Thin Lizzy song!

CurlyMoo · 11/08/2016 21:15

There is a Cath Kidston type bedding range in Ikea called Rosalie that I love, so the name is a hit for me I might add it to my list for unlikely future babies

MrsGsnow18 · 11/08/2016 21:14

There was a Rosalie in Twilight and they called her Rose for short so it def works as a NN.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 11/08/2016 20:39

Nice name, but. If you don't like Rosie. Avoid

SlinkyB · 11/08/2016 20:27

Glad I didn't offend! Seriously though, if you're not keen on Rosie then I'd steer clear, just in case.

Though I have a perfectly shorten-able (yes, that's a word now) ten letter name which has never been shortened, thanks to my scary Mum who wouldn't allow it!

Skiver123 · 11/08/2016 20:10

Reminds me of a cleaner on American TV. They're always called Rosa 😂

weechops · 11/08/2016 20:07

😂 ha that made me laugh SlinkyB I'm into a bit of woo and stuff so not such a bad connotation. Thanks Smile

Gorgeous, floral and traditional but with slightly hippy/boho undertones. Feminine but not overly frilly. Works for woman and girl.

I love it Smile

Pretty

SlinkyB · 11/08/2016 19:58

Conjures up an image of a fortune telling traveler/gypsy for me. Sorry! Congrats though Smile
