DMIL is Cadence, so it's nice for that reason too.

I work with pre-schoolers, and, over the last 3 or 4 yers it seems about 60% of them have been called one or another spelling of Caden / Kayden / Kaiden / (+ some more creative ones)

Don't set too much store by what you read on the baby names board; bear in mind that people here rave over the names Clementine and Persephone for newborns.

I think Caden is lovely.

I'm a teacher and would never judge a child by his or her name HOWEVER over the years I have noticed that often children with the same name have similar traits. Not all of them, of course!

Kayden / Caden / Brayden / Jayden etc are all awful.

Shame, because the "normal" name of Aidan/Aiden has been tarnished by them.

I have worked in a school too and really dislike the idea that you have naughty names. They Jayden I know is really well behaved and does really well at school.

Children from all walks of life - and different names can be naughty or nice ime. That's pretty obvious though isn't it.

I recently had a Caden in my class. He was lovely.
I'd never thought it was 'chavvy' until I heard it on MN. I think some people just like to jump on a bandwagon.
I do however dislike Jayden, Jadyn or however you want to spell it because once again, working in a school, most of them have been less than angelic!

I know of one Jayden, one Aiden and one Cadan. All different ages (one miles away). Our area is very multicultural though so we have lots of Mohammeds, Sergios, Vicktors etc. Having an issue with popular names really depends on where you live.

atruth beat me to it, was going to suggest Cade as well! It sounds nice but I think as pp have said it is a popular sounding name with many many Jayden's etc in my neck of the woods! I know a Cayden too.

I think it is very much implied on here that the Jayden, Cadan type names are way too working class and simply not high court judge material. You can tell by the sneezy tone of the posts.
Op, honestly go for it if you like it. Don't let MN put you off a name if you like it.
