Not pregnant but my DD (6) told me that if she has a son (a long time into the future I hope) she is going to call him Ian. Grin What do you think? Hopelessly outdated or due for a revival?

My auld man is called Iain so I think it's lovely, because he is if that makes sense. If you've known an Iain/Ian who is a knob, it's not so nice.

I don't know how Ian can ever be described as a lovely name Shock

Oh God, that is awful!

I know many men/boys called Ian/Iain. Nothing wrong with it Confused. But I do live in Scotland where it may be more common? Gaelic for John.

It'll be fashionable by then.
His cohort will be called things like Kevin and Tony.

I can't imagine a baby Ian. I always assume they were all born at 40 years old.

ayeokthen · 02/08/2016 15:50

DS middle name is Iain, it's quite common up here.
