Boys names - looking for opinions

Thinking about boys names and would love some feedback and suggestions - finding it so much harder than girls! The challenge for us is that the child will have a reasonably common surname so we can't use anything too popular for the first name. My name is quite unusual (though not remotely weird) and I think it's handy to be able to find yourself on google. So, with that in mind, any thoughts or suggestions to add to my list as i'm not 100% sold on any of them.

Shortlist:

  • Edwin
  • Wilfred (we like 'Wilf')
  • Rowan
  • Ezra

Would be on my shortlist if they weren't so popular or vetoed by partner:

  • Noah
  • Kier
  • Jude
  • Gabriel
  • Finn
  • Roman

Thanks so much!

Just seen these new comments- thanks all. I love Wilfred but my reservation is other people's perception of it - I think it can be a bit marmite. Having said that, I have a name which has been absolutely slated here but I'm very happy with it!

I adore Gabriel (Gabe! So nice) but my husband doesn't like it.

Sometimes I worry I have named my children and people think I'm odd to have chosen to name them like two farmers from 1900 and then I forget to care. You can't choose names because of what other people will think. When they arrive you'll probably settle on something. My first was supposed to be Evelyn but the penis was unpredicted and meant a change of plan.

Ezra! Such a gorgeous name would have used it had we not had Dfil, DH's friend and our surnameSmile
