My brother is Michael. He has always been Mickey to the family but he gets his mates to call him Mike.

It's a very popular name for men aged 35-55 here in Ireland. Personally I wouldn't call a baby that name as I find it a bit blah though a friend recently named her DS that and it didn't raise any eyebrows.

It's my husbands name. I like it
It will inevitably get shortened to Mike
It's not so common any more so that's a bonus
