My cousin's daughter has the middle name Jordan. This was before the celebrity that is Jordan even existed. Jordan (aka Katie Price) hit the media about 2 years later. My cousin (well to do head teacher) was not best pleased with the chavy associations with her DDs name

Trouble is, with ANY name, you could suddenly have an awful reality star with the same name pop up and become famous after your DC has been named. Nothing to be done about that.

I'd stop talking about names with people in real life. People often seem to think they've got a say in what the baby will be called if you share short lists with them, so will happily try to put you off names not to their taste. Generally, people are much more polite after the baby has been born, and will try much harder to keep negative opinions to themselves.

When I read thread title, I was expecting to see some really outlandish names. These are all normal.

Definitely stop telling people in advance. Make your decisions privately and announce the name when it's all official. If you say too much in advance, some nosey-parkers take that an invitation to critique the name.

My sons are called rupert and Dennis and people were horrible about both names when I was pregnant but now either people pretend they like them or no better than to insult my child lol
