DS has a name that's very similar to a celebrity... I had no idea.

My son is 10 months old, his name is very similar to a celebrity and it's already causing problems.

At first, people would say the celebrity's name, whenever I introduced them, thinking they had heard it wrong... Failing to realise they were taking the piss.

I'm not sure what to do...

I would never associate the two names. Puth doesn't even rhyme with Booth does it?

Ds loves him. He sang the song used for the last Fast & Furious song that was a tribute to the actor who died. Also Marvin Gaye & get it in with that woman singer whatsherface name (the one who sang about not being a size 10)

I have the same name as a very famous male (I'm not!) rock singer. It get comments oh about 20, 30 times a day...

Years ago when on Friends Reunited I saw that my ex had a Harry Potter in his year. I think the first 2 were out but it wasn't a thing yet. He must have to go by his wife or mothers maiden now. Imagine the nightmare and the stick you'd get - NO-ONE would believe you.

I have known several Michael Jacksons. And a few Harry Webbs. And a few others.

By the time your son is older the "cool" people making jokes will be sneered at by teenagers who've "never heard of him".

DH has a few people with the same name as him, one very famous in a related field - it's only embarrassing when DH gets the other ones mail or isn't sure if an invitation is really for him.

I used to know a Richard Burton. As a late-teen he was stopped by the police one night for speeding. The police refused to believe he was giving them this real name.

I'm surprised people are commenting/making a big deal of it tbh. They are different names.

I work with someone called David Cameron, that's much worse for sure. Never heard of the (apparent) celeb you mentioned, but then I'm not very down with the kids lol

Ah, don't worry, it's only familiar amongst the yoofs and those who have kids around a certain age.

I wouldn't even make the correlation and we have a couple of fans of his in our house!

It's a nice name.

Nope, that means nothing to me. I thought your baby's name was going to be Elvis Cresley or David Hameron.

Don't introduce him with his full name - Charlie on its own is not interesting. Or call him Charles if it's bothering you.

I used to work with a tall, red haired lady called Diana Ross. She would be in her thirties now I think. It made me think "oh like Diana Ross" for about a second but then I just thought of her as Diana Ross from HR.
