When I was a kid a knew a Warren Beatty and a Diana Ross. The funniest was actually Lee Bruce, where it just looked ridiculous anywhere the surname was written first.

I taught a Phil Collins. It was funny for about two seconds. The rest of the kids didn't give a monkeys.

I'm always amazed at the number of people who don't believe it is a surname and also the number of people who ask if my first name is Mary, as if they are the most hilarious and witty comedian who has ever graced God's green Earth. Ho hum, my childhood head teacher's surname was Kuntz so it could have been worse...

My surname is Christmas. Everyone is a comedian I also once went out with a chap called Elton and his middle name is actually John. True story. My friend's nana has the married surname Ankers and her Christian name begins with W. These are hilarious/worrying/unfortunate name choices. I wouldn't give Charlie Booth a minute's thought?

My DS has the same name as a well known celebrity except the name isn't common at all! Charlie is a lovely name.

I really wouldn't worry about it. I was at school with a girl called Katie Perry, I'm sure she gets the odd double take now, but for the first 20 odd years of her life it wasn't an issue, and I'm sure it won't be in another 10. It isn't like your surname was Cruise and you called him Tom.

I really wouldn't worry. People just feel the need to say something about a baby name, give it a few months and it will stop.

Ds2's name is the same as a minor celeb of the passing trend kind but the other way round (eg if ds was Jackson James then the celeb is James Jackson) and when he was a baby we were admitted to the children's ward from A&E and when we got up they had the celebs name on the board which caused all manner of confusion and me trying to point out their mistake

If you take the "son" off the end of our surname my DS1's name is the same as a very famous film star/ singer. It's never been an issue, I forget until we meet someone new and occasionally (probably twice ever) it gets mentioned.

I used to know a Richard Burton. As a late-teen he was stopped by the police one night for speeding. The police refused to believe he was giving them this real name.

My brother used to know someone called Steve Rockett who was stopped for speeding on his way to work. Add in the fact he worked at the Mars factory in Slough, you can imagine how that went.

Ive seen him live and had my picture taken with him! He was performing in a pub in London. Before that night I had no idea who he was!
