Help me pick a marvellous name...! Please!

Due baby of unknown sex in 2 weeks. Girl's name sorted, but I'm convinced we're having another beautiful boy.

We already have Arthur.

I don't like anything 'trendy' or 'faddy', and like strong, classic names, but (typically) nothing too popular (so no George, Charlie etc)

At the moment we seem to be wavering between Rupert and Edmund. But I just wonder is people will think 'why not Edward' (and it will just get shortened anyway) and whether Rupert is a bit wet??

I love Sebastian but it's very popular here.

Any thoughts or suggestions please??

We had Edmund on our list and loved it so much we gave it to our DS. I love the Narnia books, and as outdoor types have huge respect for Edmund Hillary.

Rupert is a bit "wet" as you put it but its not horrible just a bit dull I suppose. Edmund is ok I suppose - a bit Narnia-esque.

I have a baby cousin Rupert. He's adorable. Nobody thinks it's a wet name. He has a pretty 'cool' surname and a "standard" middle name (think Matthew, Edward etc), so Rupert sounds good and he could always switch to the middle name if he doesn't like Rupert later on - could you do that for your DS if it is a DS ? I once had a personal trainer called Rupert, he was faaaaar from wet
Edmund I suppose I just think of Edmund in the Narnia book and he wasn't that nice or clever at times.

Sebastian is lovely, even if it is popular. How about Hugo? Really not keen on Rupert or Edmund, both sound very try hard and twee.
