Please help me find a name... Unisex names...

Or boys names that can be used for a girl (including as an adult woman!). Tradititional, preferably old (biblical, or possibly old English, or similar, or diminutive of those) not American, not unique...

The two names that most closely fit this bill so far are Sam, and Jamie. Neither of which are possible for good family reasons.

Other thoughts are Eddie, Charlie, or Phil. But I don't like the female versions of those names, so it would be the short form only. Would that be ok?

I know a couple of Philippa's, but both get shortened to Pippa, not Phil.

There's a girl in my DS's class called Finn, not short for anything. I did think it was a boy for months and used to correct him when he said she/her, then he'd get mad at me coz of course he was right!

When the Beckhams named their daughter Harper my DM said "it's one of those bisexual names". She meant unisex Grin.

I know of a girl called Ronnie. It's not a nickname but her actual name and I know of a male Jessie or possibly Jesse too but it's no good if your surname is James.

My mum had an auntie called Louie which was probably short for Louise.

Hillary is the only one I can think of that I don't think has been mentioned yet.

I like Eddie for both boys and girls. Phil seems very masculine to me, I've known Phillipa's but never heard it shortened for a girl.
