Love it. It's the name of one of Courtney Adamo's (Instagram royalty) girls and if her photos are anything to go by she has impeccable taste.

I don't like it and it doesn't travel well into other languages (which may or may not bother you).

Ah the cat Smile not everyone likes the same names but just wanted a general opinion , I do like it but not 100% I just have no other ideas

I can't help but pronounce it I.V. - as in 'intravenous drip'. But I know that's ridiculous

I know an ivy. Of All the flowery or gardeny names it's my least favourite.

My Ivy-Rose is very fiesty and sweet. I've only had positive reactions to it ☺️

She uses the whole of her name too, rather than just Ivy. I think because they're both short names it works, without being too Walton's.

Aspirational towards fame, because a "celeb" has used it??
Beyoncé choosing a perfectly ordinary name instead of a collection of random letters or names of vegetables doesn't put that name out of common usage Confused

I love it, it's my Mom's name. She was named after her aunt and a large part of me wishes the name had been passed on to me rather than the 60s/70s name I was saddled with.

I think it's one if those names that will end up sounding very dated as you can easily pinpoint an Ivy's age - either over 80 or under 5. There are very few in between.

Personally, I don't like it at all. I class it along the same lines as Olive and Myrtle, one of those old lady plant names that is frumpy and unattractive. But lots of people disagree with me. I'm a midwife and I've come across several of them in the past year or so and I think it's top 50 now and will definitely continue to rise. Another reason why I think it will end up dated is that it's got popular very quickly.

i really dislike it but I don't like all the old-fashioned frumpy granny names like this that are so popular on MN. Also poison ivy, creeping ivy. No.

I'm not keen for a very niche reason.

In Trainspotting one of the characters shags his cousin at a funeral (of course) and she's not clean, and he describes her as 'giving off a powerful ivy smell'.

That's always stuck in my mind and it's what I think of when I hear the name. I recognise this is entirely random though.

I love it but it does seem to be getting more popular. Since I had my Ivy 3 years ago I have come across 4 others.

Little, old ladies love it too, everyone I've met seems to have had an aunty Ivy...
