Florence or Clara? A sibling for Beatrice

We are finding it difficult to choose a name for our second baby (another girl). We have a Beatrice so we need a name that goes with that. We like Florence and Clara so it would be great to know which you prefer and also if you can think of any other names that go well with Beatrice. Thanks

Florence, definitely.

Some amazing suggestions! Thank you! And so interesting that Clara is the clear winner.

Clara

bombayflambe · 28/06/2016 12:50

A few years ago I met twin girls called Beatrice and Cecily. I think they are a great pair of names.

LemonScentedStickyBat · 28/06/2016 12:45

Eleanor or Sylvia

Clara is beautiful

1horatio · 28/06/2016 12:07

I mean amongst the children of colleagues from DH's or my workplace....

Ringadingdingdong22 · 28/06/2016 11:58

Clara

1horatio · 28/06/2016 11:56

Btw, even rhough I love the name Clara (it was also on my namelist) I feel like it's becoming more popular.
So, I'm not sure. But (at least amongst colleagues from DH's or my work) there are no Lydias... And Lydia is simply lovely.

delilabell · 28/06/2016 11:54

I'm biased as my 6week old is called Clara :-) but it is a beautiful name.

Youranus · 28/06/2016 10:25

Love Beatrice and Josephine.

handonhip · 28/06/2016 07:38

Clara here.

KoalaDownUnder · 28/06/2016 04:10

Oh yes, Lydia is also gorgeous. Either Clara or Lydia with Beatrice would be divine!

Pinkandwhite · 28/06/2016 03:12

Lydia is a great suggestion.

Thanks again for the replies. So helpful! I'm surprised by people's views on Florence. I'm glad I asked!

Clara. It is so elegant.

I don't think Florence is nice - it is neither pretty or elegant. It is just long(ish).

Scarydinosaurs · 26/06/2016 13:52

Clara- I LOVE Clara!

pilates · 26/06/2016 13:40

Clara is lovely, not keen on Florence.

How about Lydia?

MyNewBearTotoro · 26/06/2016 13:18

Clara is lovely and I think it goes beautifully with Beatrice.

areyoubeingserviced · 26/06/2016 13:13

Clara

1horatio · 26/06/2016 13:08

Btw, what about Flora? I feel like it has some of the simplicity of Clara, it obviously has a connection to Florence but isn't that popular.

And Flora MacDonald is a really cool namesake (DH was actually not happy at all when he realised that we couldn't use the name Flora...)

I love Clara and I think it goes with Beatrice (I can't really explain why though).

I'm not overly keen on Florence due to nickname potential (I know one who is called Flossie!)

KoalaDownUnder · 26/06/2016 11:43

I like Clara better.

Florence only has naff nicknames, too (Florrie and Flo?)

Pinkandwhite · 26/06/2016 01:54

Thanks everyone. Some really good suggestions. I have no idea what we'll go for!
