Our baby girl is due in 5 weeks time and we can't narrow down the 4 names we like any further!
We're just after people's opinions on which they prefer please!

The names are:
Amelia
Evangeline
Evelyn
Isabella

Thanks in advanceSmile

I know a lot of girls called Amelia and Isabella, and they're quite widely used, so don't recommend them personally.

Evangeline is lovely, but very French and religious, so only if that suits?

Love Evelyn, and I've never heard it mispronounced myself. Just don't aim to shorten it to Evie, as that is also hugely popular.

TheImprobableGirl · 18/06/2016 22:23

I have an Isabella (called Bella/ Bells/ Belle) and she is the only one in KS1 (she's primary aged 5)

Personally I think it's beautiful. She's an Isabella Rose, it suits her down to the ground and a lovely name.

It might not be of interest but there is a baby on CBeebies called Evangeline atm, pretty little thing but might be getting more popular!

Amelia I do think is a smidge overused at the moment. And, like alexia, the medical connotations put me off.

I don't love Evelyn sorry

luckiestgirl · 18/06/2016 22:21

Love Evangeline

Beedoo123 · 18/06/2016 22:19

Another vote for Evangeline... You could call her Angel too! Like the others but they are quite popular...

5BlueHydrangea · 18/06/2016 22:16

Amelia and Issbella are lovely but really popular.
I really like Evangeline. It doesn't scream religious to me and I am! Lots of potential shortenings too.

candykane25 · 18/06/2016 22:13

Does popularity bother you? If you want to be different, pick Evangelina.

If you want to be timelessly classic, pick Issbella.

If you want to be of the moment right now, pick Amelia.

If you aren't bothered by people mid pronouncing the name, pick Evelyn.

chocoLit · 18/06/2016 22:09

Isabella vote here too - ours is the only one in the school so laugh at everyone saying it's overused/popular. It depends on where you live tbh. DD has 3 Caitlyns and 3 Lewis in her year for example.................

Not so keen on Amelia - prefer Amelie.
Evelyn is lovely
Evangeline a tad too try hard for me some how although love the nn Evan for a girl.

Dontrocktheboat · 17/06/2016 22:54

Definitely Evangeline - the rest are way too overused.

SovietKitsch · 17/06/2016 21:07

Evangeline - the others are all so popular at the moment. And you can always go for Lina as your diminutive rather than the all-pervasive Evie

Meeep · 17/06/2016 20:30

I know three baby Evangelines so please ignore anyone saying to choose that because the others are popular. In five years Evangeline will be equivalent to Amelia I think.

Evelyn2405 · 17/06/2016 20:26

Evelyn :D

Threefaries · 17/06/2016 19:29

Evangeline is lovely, such an elegant and pretty name.

ABitAsleep · 17/06/2016 10:16

Amelia - Love it, it's popular but classic, suitable to cute baby or sensible adult. Nice opportunities for nicknames too - Amy, Milly, Mimi, etc
Evangeline - Sounds very religious to me, if that's what you're going for.
Evelyn - Not keen, but then again i don't like any of the 'old lady' names that are in fashion now.
Isabella - Very popular, and a big variety of spellings which could get annoying, but a nice name.

borntohula · 16/06/2016 22:43

Evelyn!

skankingpiglet · 16/06/2016 22:33

Evangeline for me too Smile

weegie wouldn't Eveline just end up being pronounced eve-line by most people? It's what I'd plump for if I'd only seen it written down. Or possibly ee-vel-ine?

septembersunshine · 16/06/2016 21:14

I like Evangeline and she could be Evie for short. Amelia. Umm.. well, I went off this when I found out it was also a medical term for missing/absent limb(s). I know it's also a name but just that alone put me off that name. For good. I really like the others too in varying degrees. Isabella is very pretty. She could be Issy/Izzy/Belle/Bella. So much choice but it is popular. That said I'd still pick your favourite over what is popular. Popularity can be regional - I think this is often forgotten.

CheerfulYank · 16/06/2016 19:56

Evangeline! Love it. Evie, Lena, Van for a cool teen...

Mottled · 16/06/2016 19:55

Evelyn or Evangeline.

Nospringflower · 16/06/2016 19:12

Really not keen on Evelyn. Amelia and Isabella nice but v popular so Evangeline for me too!

pilates · 16/06/2016 18:29

All nice, except Evelyn which I dislike.

BoboBunnyH0p · 16/06/2016 16:38

I vote Evangeline, it's my DD middle name, we love both her names and only decided the order once we met her.
Amelia and Isabella are very popular at the moment.

weegiemum · 16/06/2016 16:13

What about the less common Eveline (EE-v-lin). I love that name, a relative has it and can go by Evie, Evvy or Eve as well as the full name.

oldlaundbooth · 16/06/2016 16:11

Evelyn.

Feminine but strong.

Isabella sounds too Disney.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/06/2016 16:10

Isabella

Sophronia · 16/06/2016 16:06

Evangeline, followed by Isabella.
