I really like them! But, the ones I can think of have to many fault, despite my love for them.

Piers - reminds me too much of Piers Morgan

Rupert - Reminds me of Rupert the bear, plus, you can only shorten it to Roo!

Any ideas?

Pearce instead of piers.
Why don't you go with Rupert if you like it and don't worry about shortening it. If you want a shorter name one will evolve naturally, but you don't need a pre planned shortened nick name, seems to be a MN thing

Love Hugo too but it's a bit too chubby stockbroker for my liking.
