Total toff/posh boys names anyone?

I really like them! But, the ones I can think of have to many fault, despite my love for them.

Piers - reminds me too much of Piers Morgan

Rupert - Reminds me of Rupert the bear, plus, you can only shorten it to Roo!

Any ideas?

I know a fair few Douglases (Dougli?) of various ages. All Scottish, none particularly posh.

I wanted to call my boy Douglas but meet resistance because it was apparently posh...I think of it as old Scottish not posh at all. And interestingly it hasn't appeared on this thread.

the poshest boy I know is Kenny (Kenneth) [proper titled/manor house posh], his sister is .... Devon Shock Grin

The Tobys, Jaspers, Humphreys etc are far more middle class (my boys' names have appeared multiple times on this thread as has my brother's!). My nephew was very nearly Reuben.

Many of the names that people associate with being "posh" are actually quite common now. The genuinely upper class / aristocratic men that I know are called Anthony and William (Billy). Not exactly Ptolomy or Tarquinius!!!! Xx

I have to agree with others - in what world is Reuben posh?? It is the absolute opposite of posh!
Reuben is this generation's Jason.

Posh = Cosmo, Humphrey, Horace, Edmund, Wilbur

There is a 6 year old Aubrey (boy) in my sons class at school. The peerage aristocratic kids are called things like Harry and Oliver here btw.

I know Quentin, Gabriel, Conrad and loads of Nicholases, Jaspers, Olivers and Charleses and and none of them are remotely posh.

I think the official name is largely irrelevant. In order to be truly posh you (or preferably Nanny) need to give them a nickname like Pumpy or Trumpy.

Biggreenolives - a million thank yous , it's friends child's name (who is now 24 yrs old - have always been perplexed but too embarrassed to ask Blush. ) another of lifestyle mysteries solved although as a keen lover of old buildings I have heard of Inigo Jones , you would have thought I would have worked that out by now !!

The name is Inigo, as in Inigo Jones the architect. Indigo is a colour.
