Hi, looking for thoughts on Kaylee? I prefer Kayleigh - what even is the original???

I like Kaylee not sure why people say it's awful. Similar to Katy but with a l instead of a t. I'm sure no one objects to Katy probably because Kaylee is perceived to be a working class name.

purpleshortcake. I know a Kay and Lee who do have a DD called Kaylee.

My DC would be named after a well known brand of mounded plastic bins and washing up bowls etc if we did this!

If you like the eee sound, I'm asinine based on Harmony and Kayleigh then how about Coralie (also has a nature vibe to go with Robin), or Connie (could go with Constance if you want the traditional full name).

I know a Cayleigh, too.

Prefer the Kayleigh spelling, even if it does make me think of the song! I dislike -ee endings for names in general.

Hmm, I'm a bit unsure about it, as I do like names that are a bit more unusual... We have a Harmony and Robin (DD and DS) so Kayleigh would look a bit off... I guess I'll keep looking!!

So not actually an 80s name theme going?

I'll get flamed for this but what about Cadence?

Sorry to any Kayleighs/Kaylees above but I definitely wouldn't call a new baby this name. My dd has a name that was of it's time rather than classic and now she's a teenager, although it's a pretty name, I do wish I'd chosen something more traditional.

Firefly Kaylee is actually Kaywinnet Lee.
Kayleigh is better imo.

Agree that Kayleigh is the norm in the UK. I'd actually go for Kayley before hitting on Kaylee. There's a character in a US show my DD loves called Kailie so there's always that option too!

Pretty name, whatever.

A "Michaela" in my family often called "Kayleigh" by close family as a child. Prefers "Michaela" now as more "grown-up" and "professional".

I knew a Kayleigh when i was younger, she will be in her 20's now. It alwasys suited her. It was girly enough, but also suitable for more of a tom-boy. Still cute, but could be professional.

The Caylee Anthony association is a bit unfortunate.

The Kayleigh spelling definitely makes me think of the song. It's a better spelling all round. 70s and 80s names are about to have a huge revival.
