Baby due any day, and DH has changed his mind on the name...

So after thinking we'd settled on Eloise as a first name, DH now thinks that he prefers the name Annabel, and the discussions have started all over again... I'm too tired and hormonal to even think straight, so I'd love some MN wisdom to help us get this baby's name sorted once and for all!

Eloise Angelica Perry (DH's favourite combo if we choose Eloise)
Eloise Beatrice Perry
Eloise Annabel Perry (love this but as one name starts with an 'El' sound, and the other ends with 'El', is that a no-no?)
Eloise Annabella Perry
Eloise Rosa Perry
Eloise Aurelia Perry

Annabel Rosa Perry
Annabel Rosalie Perry
Annabel Grace Perry
Annabel Rose Perry
Annabel Tabitha Perry
(I don't LOVE any of the MN options listed with Annabel, so open to suggestions...)

Thank a lot on advance for your input...

Eloise is lovely especially with Angelica. Have you thought about Eloise Fleur?

Xmasbaby11 · 16/06/2016 20:28

I like Eloise but I think a lot of people will spell or pronounce it wrong, so it depends how much that would bother you.

Dd has an unusual name Btw and I don't mind that people struggle with how to say or spell it.

minipie · 16/06/2016 19:06

El - Oh - Ease

Xmasbaby11 · 16/06/2016 19:03

I've never heard the name Eloise. How do you pronounce it?

It looks nice written down though.

badg3r · 15/06/2016 21:58

I prefer Annabel. Maybe see what she looks like before deciding finally? Maybe once she is here it will be more obvious!

LadyAntonella · 15/06/2016 21:32

Annabel Seraphine Perry (it's lovely). Smile

Not keen on Eloise or Rosa and Rose is a bit overused as a MN IMHO.

travellinghopefully12 · 15/06/2016 21:16

Angelica Eloise Perry

travellinghopefully12 · 15/06/2016 21:15

Could Angelica be the first name? I love it, and it's quite unusual. Angelica Eloise is gorgeous.

LentilAsAnything · 14/06/2016 22:43

Heloise for something a bit different?
Or Anneliese?

signalred · 14/06/2016 22:39

Not that keen on eloise but love annabelle, my son would of been that if he wasn't a little boy. Love Annie, love Belle, love annabelle xx

SoThatHappened · 14/06/2016 22:34

Two EE sounds....sodding auto correct.

I like Eloise Annabel the best .

SoThatHappened · 14/06/2016 22:31

Not Eloise Beatrice

To EE sounds too close together.

Eeze and then Bee next to each other it is hard to say.

bradybratpack · 14/06/2016 04:06

The clock is ticking and we still haven't come to an agreement! DH keeps flip-flopping (he suggested Arabella last night and felt the full force of my 9 months' pregnant fury, ha!)

The shortlist is now as follows:

Eloise Beatrice Perry
Eloise Annabel Perry
Eloise Angelica Perry

Annabel Rosa Perry
Annabel Rose Perry
Annabel Seraphine Perry

Thoughts?

Eloise Annabel

septembersunshine · 08/06/2016 07:53

I love Annabel! We are using Annabel if we have a girl (three months to go). Nickname will be Anna or Annie I think (because that kind of goes with the rest of our kids names). I don't like Eloise. I think it sounds like 'Hell Louise!' . Plus I'm not fond of the name Louise and I think the Elle sound at the start gets lost and all you can hear is the name Louise. Mumsnetters always love this name though so it must just be me.

So I'd go with Annabel and pair it with a really fantastic middle name. Depends what kind of feel you want? Fun; Annabel Poppy/Molly Classic; Annabel Elizabeth/Victoria/Charlotte; cool Annabel Fern/Coco? ok... running out of ideas. I do know an Annabel Iris and I think that is lovely. Good luck x

Blu · 08/06/2016 06:52

Eloise is lovely.

I know a Lola or Lol who is Eloise.

Mycraneisfixed · 08/06/2016 05:08

I know an adult Eloise and she never, ever gets El or Ellie.

She is also extremely smart, cool and witty. Smile

bradybratpack · 08/06/2016 04:03

Thanks for all the responses so far. I prefer the nickname options for Annabel (Anna, Belle, Bella) but worry that the name will get lost in the sea of Isabelles, Isobels and Isabellas... those names are so very common in my neck of the woods. Eloise seems more unusual, somehow, but I don't love Ellie (Ellie Perry doesn't work!) or 'Weez', and my friends and family are habitual name-shorteners!

It doesn't help that I live overseas at the moment, and I have to file the baby's birth certificate before I leave the hospital. There's huge pressure to get it right as it is a very long-winded and expensive process to change it after the fact!

PLEASE keep the opinions coming in! I will show the thread to DH and hopefully we can come to an agreement

Ooh, Eloise over Annabel any day!

I actually like how Eloise Annabel sounds - the repeated sound isn't obvious IMO, and I think it gives the name a kind of balance and symmetry.

I also love Eloise Aurelia.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 07/06/2016 14:38

I wouldn't feel pushed into deciding now, wait until you see her and choose then, you've got some lovely names on your list and I'm sure you'll soon work out what's best.

1horatio · 07/06/2016 14:36

I love Annabel! :)

Eloise Annabel Perry is my favourite Eloise name combo...

What about Annabel Eloise Perry?

heron98 · 07/06/2016 14:32

I am not so keen on Eloise. Love Annabel though!
