Thoughts on Stanley??

I think I really like Stanley.... I've got a Finlay and a Fraser already.... does it go?

I thought of Norman Stanley Fletcher from Porridge with your other possible name...

But I love Stanley with a different middle name, tho agree it doesn't especially "go" with your other DC, if that's something that bothers you

My first thought is Laurel and Hardy, one of them was Stanley

Grin at Seth being evil! I just think of the old chap in Emmerdale Farm when hear Seth.
Norman will alway be my beloved grandad so no psycho killer connection would mar it, its just so old fashioned that I'm not sure it would be fair to a wee boy....

Aw, I had a rabbit called Norman. He was named after Norm in Cheers, not Norman Bates. I really like the name, obviously. And Stanley - I know a lots of Stanley/Stans, it's a great name.

Along the same lines, how about Sidney/Sid? It's got the same sort of vibe. Or Gilbert/Gil?

Love Stanley. Really dislike Seth. To me the name Seth is a bit evil.

I don't think you should listen to anyone else when it comes to names BUT Stanley (knife) and Norman (Bates from the film Psycho) seems an odd combination. Good luck!

thanks everyone.... I like it but not sure it "goes" it ine of the only boy names that DH and I both like.....
I love Seth but DH not keen... If dc3 is a boy he's truly buggered - esp as keen to give middle name as Norman after my Grandad.....
"Stanley Norman" so old fashioned that ots cool maybe ha??!!
DH vetoes nearly all the names I like ha!
Got lots of girls names that we love....

Use it as a mn if it's important to you. Personally, I think it goes better with Trevor and Nigel than Finley and Fraser.

I imagine a little boy full of character. I think Stan is quite cute but you'll never get 100% consensus when it comes to any name.

I don't really the name much but I definitely don't think it fits with Fraser and Finlay which are both lovely names. How about Kerr, Keir, Cameron, Ruaridh?
